Charcoal Mask

Thanks to pink cotton for introducing this mask to me.

She has actually helped me to get the mask. Let's see what are the troubles she has to get through before the mask arrive in my hand:
1. Register an account to the forum. I am a member but I have never buy anything from there yet.
2. Look for the seller who sell it with the cheapest price.
3. Bargain before place order.
4. Transfer money to the seller's account. I will have to go to bank and deposit money to seller's account as I do not have online account for the bank that seller using.
5. Collect the parcel from post office.
6. Date me and pass me the mask!

Troublesome, right?

Nevertheless, it is really a wonderful mask that doing a great job in pulling out all the whiteheads and blackheads. In fact, it removes the dead cells. So, the face is soft like baby skin after use. ;p

Her passion for graphic design

Let me ask you girls a question, when you were 17 or 18, when you were asked to choose a course to futher your study, is "xxx design course" (whether it is fashion design, interior desgin or graphic design) on your list?

To be honest, yes, the design courses are on top of my list even though I do not take art in school!! 'x'! Well, I think most the girls I know have such dreams to become a designer when they are still young. But, none of them I know that take up the design course later.

My young sil (ccw's sister) loves design too but she is different. The family cannot support her for the expensive graphic design course, she found a certificate course at a local college for graphic design. After that, she worked in a local company which do graphic design. The company closed. She worked with her aunt at her traditional advertising company. She is not satisfied as she has to deal with administrative work most of the time and do not have much designing work to do.

She decided to fly all the way to Singapore and looked for a better job. She finally found one after many had turn her down.

During CNY, she brought back an album with all baby Cola's photos nicely decorated with graphic inside. It is simply lovely.

Now, she is selling her own designed mini greeting cards @ seasonsstories.blogspot.com
Front.

Back.

Amaze me that my young sil managed to do all these by herself including finding the company to do the printing, finding materials for her mini cards and envelope, set up her blogshop, etc.

Wishing her all the best in her business! kekeke...

When baby Cola was 6-months-old

Physical:
I thought the private clinic will do the measurement when I brought baby Cola to take the PCV (Pneumococcal conjugated vaccine), but no. The doctor only tested on the hearing and eyesight only. So, I roughly estimate that he is now at least 8kg and above. (What kind of estimation, he is already 7.95kg last month! haha)

Sleep:
Sleep at around 8:30pm. Still wake up at least 2 times at night for milk.

Feeding:
Drink 5oz every 3 hours.
Introducing him to rice cereals. For the first 2 spoons, he opened his mouth and leaned forward. But for the third spoon, he opened his mouth unwillingly. And after feeding him the forth spoon, his expression showed that he dislikes the rice cereals 'x' Also, he closed his mouth tightly after that. We mixed the rice cereals into his milk and fed him using bottle, but he chose to starve himself instead.
Next, we gave him Milna Biscuit. He loves it slightly better than the rice cereals.

Interesting facts:
  • He can wave goodbye.
  • He learns to shake his little head and this brings us lot of fun.
Popo asked: Gong gong swing you to sleep, ok?
He shook his head.
~~~~~
Waipo asked: Baby Cola, you want waipo to carry you?!
He looked at my mom and shook his head POLITELY with a smile.
Waipo asked again: Baby Cola, waipo carry, ok?!
He shook his head once again!
Waipo asked: Baby Cola, waipo carry and bath you, want?!
He shook his head and pouted a bit.
Waipo asked: You do not want to take bath?
He shook his head!
My mom said he seemed to understand her!
~~~~~
My sil asked: Baby Cola, next time when you grow up, will you be as naughty as bulat koko?
He shook his head!
Hahahaha...
~~~~~
When we sing the same songs to him, he will shake his little head as if he is telling us that he does not want to listen to the same old songs.
~~~~~

He also shakes head when my mil asked him whether he wants her brother to carry him or not. We tried to test him on this, we asked him the following questions:
1. You want mummy to carry you?
2. You want papa to carry you?
3. You want gong gong to carry you?
4. You want popo to carry you?

He did not response to all the above but once you asked about lao gu (my mil's brother), he will shake his head immediately.
~~~~~
  • He greets me with a charming smiley face when I got back from work.
  • He loves to play the chasing and catching game. Example: I carried him going up the staircase, and the daddy chasing from behind, he would get very excited, laugh out loudly and kick his legs.
  • He learns to clap.
  • He enjoys playing with saliva using his mouth, lips and tongue.
  • He can grab thing with his little hand firmly now. One morning, I carried him down from upstairs without realising that he had his pacifier in hand until my mil asked why was he taking the pacifier with him. He did not drop it halfway.
Remarks:
He is like an angel when he smiles after waking up from his sleep every morning. He is a little monster when he cries in the middle of the night waiting to be fed. I have to wake up to comfort him while waiting for the dad to make the milk. By the way, it has been more than a month the dad offers to wake up and feed baby Cola in the middle of the nights so that mummy can get more sleeps.
Eye Shadow
I got this elianto eye shadow palette from pink cotton as Christmas gift last year.
Besides from the purple and pink, I love the other 4 colours very very much! Let's number the colour from left to right.
How I use them? For example: Brush the whole eyelid with colour 1 as base. Then, brush the colour 5 over my lid. Add the colour 2 on top of it but restrict to the area above the pupil. Done, that is how I colour my eyelids normally :)
Just realise that I have never purchase any eye shadows for myself so far. Even the EDM eye shadows are also free gifts. ;p
Now with all the colours that I have, I do not think I will buy any new colours anymore. Well, I am not a makeup person. I wear very light makeup to work. So, these colours can last me for years.
Review on the Everyday Minerals - Oval Concealer Brush, Flat Top Brush and Eye Shadow Brush
From the back: Flat Top Brush, Oval Concealer Brush and Eye Shadow Brush.
The oval concealer brush and eye shadow brush look quite alike except that one has longer bristle than the other. I used the oval concealer brush for eye shadow at first, after a few times using it, I started to think that if the bristle is shorter, it will be easier to use. This thought makes me wonder whether I was using the correct brush of not. And yes, I made a mistake. ;p
Flat Top Brush
I am using it to apply foundation. It is good, it has fuller bristle compare to the baby kabuki brush from EDM, I can easily brush my face with foundation evenly!
Oval Concealer Brush
It is soft enough. But still, I need to blend the concealer with my fingers. ;p
Eye Shadow Brush
I have been using it for a few weeks now. I used it to apply the eye shadow from EDM. It is not bad and can apply the lids evenly easier compare with using finger tips. I also tried to apply other eye shadow with it, it did the same job too. Before this, I always thought nothing is better than my fingers. ;p
Budget trip to Kota Kinabalu (KK) - Day 5
Last day of the trip. It was a Monday. CPH and KCLEE had to go to work.
So, we have to "eat ourselves"!
The 5 of us took 2 taxis which charged different fare to the view point. Nothing much to do there except from peeping CPH at site and taking photos.
After that, we visited 2 shopping malls: Karamunsing & Asia city
Lunch at fish & co.
Well, when can we have fish & co. in Kuching?
That is the end of the budget trip! Even though it is a budget trip, we still managed to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. Another unforgettable trip.
Conclusion:
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is a piece of beautiful land with the mountain and islands. Most important of all, the food is good! A place that is worth to visit if you were coming to Malaysia.
End of Day 5 in KK.
Supermarket Sweep
You remember this American television game show? There is a mini sweep where the contestant need to search for a certain item in the supermarket and return with it within 30 seconds.
So, on Sunday night, my bro, sil, ccw and I were playing that at Guardian. In order to collect the extra stamps and RM5 vouchers, we were running up and down the store to get the items that mentioned by the cashier.
I got my paddington bear redemption card with 38 stamps with me.
I sticked the stamp onto my card once I got it from the cashier. Ccw stopped me and took the photo.
My bro asked me how does the bear look like. He went to check it out and came back told me that the biggest bear is a backpack.
49 stamps! Can we get the 50th stamp?!
TAND TANG TANG TANG!!!!!
So, it is a backpack. The opening is shown on the right side of the photo.
A bit disappointed as I found that its fur drops!
Anyway, we really have a lot of fun that night. But, I do not think I will visit the drugstore for the next 6 months! Haha..
Jimuis
There are 6 of us.
We sit near each other in Form 4 and Form 5. We are good friends and we call each other as ji mui.
Our favourite activities are
  • chatting on the telephone line for hours until our ears turned red and hot,
  • spending time at one of our rooms/houses,
  • laughing crazily like there is no one else on earth,
  • giggling in class with or without reason,
  • writing each other love letters,
  • sending group emails...
OMG, I am actually smiling when I am typing these. No doubt, we have a lot of good old memories back then.
Ya, I think I should record down all the happy moments that we have had in the past here.
Anyway, over the years, we keep in touch with each other by sending group emails. We seldom meet each other as we are at different places except Amy and I in Kuching while Lyn and Happyheart in Singapore.
Amy is leaving Kuching this year. Even though, we seldom contact each other, but upon hearing that she is leaving, I cant help but feeling sad as I am going to be alone here. :(
I know the decision is not easy to make and hope that everything is going on smoothly at her side.
Hair Clips
I love small, cute little hair clips. I do not collect them but enjoy choosing hair clips from the hundreds of them at the shop.
My recent purchases:
They are to replace the broken ones:
Nephew Bulat was with me at the shop. He grabbed a packet of the colourful rubber band in hand. But I did not pay for him.
Webhosting
Currently this blog is hosted by blogspot. If you asked me whether I have ever thinking of having my own domain? Yes, I would love too. However, please bear in mind that it is not easy to get a good webhosting service. If I were have to pay for the service, I will definitely do research on the web hosting service providers. I came across webhostingrating.com recently and it provides a free research guide to help users choose the right web host for their personal or business site. The review is done based on the customer satisfaction, affordability, reliability, uptime and technical support. I find it quite helpful as I know that which best blog hosting service that I can go for. If you need help regarding webhosting, you might find useful piece of information there.
Budget trip to Kota Kinabalu (KK) - Day 4
It was the fourth morning. We wake up breathing in the fresh air, surely we were happy! :)
It was cold.
Zen Garden also provided breakfast!
We walked around the Zen Garden.
We went to Kundasang Market after breakfast. They sells all kind of vegetables, fruits, flowers and plants.
We bought a full car booth of keropok back for our colleagues.
They are not only fresh but also well-grown.
We moved on to the hot spring. We found goats and cows chewing grass by the roadside on the way going to the hot spring.
I was quite excited to visit the hot spring as I have never been to any before. But, I never expect it to be something like this.
Open Bath Tub.
Hmm, I thought it was a natural hot spring! I mean a place without the bath tubs and taps and pipes. Anyway, we did not bring any towel, so we just soak our legs. The water was really hot and our legs all turned red after soaking for 10 minutes or so.
Again, @pple, sandbox, ccw and I were dropped at the entrance to the Canopy Walk by KCLEE, CPH and Winnie. We had a short jungle trekking before we reached the hanging bridge at the canopy level. Woo...What an experience walking in the air! I sweat a lot, not cold sweat but it is hot after the exercise.
Next, we went to the Rose Garden! The roses are all bigger size there.
Now I know how they plant strawberries! :)
Finally we checkout and went back to the town.
We had dinner at Salut Seafood Restaurant. The lighting is not good, so the photo turns out to be quite dark.
We stayed overnight at KC's place.
End of Day 4 in KK.
Reservoir Park
We brought baby Cola to Reservoir Park over the long weekend.
The last time I went to this park was on 22nd August 2008!
It was a day before I deliver baby Cola. It was a Friday!
CCW and I took leave and went to the park to do some exercise, well, just took a stroll, hoping that it helps in my delivery.
It really helped! I had my contractions on the next morning as early as 3:45am. Haha...
6 months later, we pushed baby Cola in his stroller around the park. :) He had a good time exploring the world.
Baby Cola, I hope you enjoy yourself! =)
I was once a fan of Lancome
Just suddenly feel like to record all the cosmetic and skincare that I ever used in my blog. I do not have a lot of them though but I am trying to take photo of each of them before I start throwing away all the empty containers. Anyway, let me start with the branded one first. ;p
The reason I love Lancome is simple, it is because of the rose symbol on its product. And you know I love roses.
The makeup set is the first Lancome cosmetics that I have. It is a gift from my mom (a gift given to her by my bro).
It is a very good set for a beginner like me. From left: blusher, lipstick; middle: Eye liner, mascara, compact powder, brushes, lips liner; right: eye shadows. I only use the compact powder, blusher and eye shadows.
Then my sil bought me the majeur compact powder. It is the finest powder that I ever used. The other small one is a free gift when I bought the skincare from Lancome.
Concealer, it is good and easy to apply. I am not sure whether I am getting fairer, the concealer is getting more and more obvious on my face. But it was once a very good friend of mine!
The mascara is good and I will apply it when I put on my contact lens. Otherwise, my eye lashes will brush against my spectacles, and it is certainly uncomfortable.
I do not like lipstick. My lips are not thin, thus when I apply colours onto them, they get all the attention! On normal days, I do not wear lipstick. Only when attending dinner, I will apply lip gloss. I prefer glossy lips as they look more 3D. Lancome lip gloss is not bad as they are not too sticky.
Those are the makeup I got from Lancome. I still have other skincare products from Lancome which I will post up some other day.
My Maternity Clothes
I do not have a lot of them but I just got myself enough to wear for different purposes. I have about 7 pairs of long pants, 1 maternity dress, 2 maternity tee shirts and 3 pairs of short pants. Surprise?! Kekee, I bought all the big long blouses and bigger size pants as my maternity wear! Also, I borrowed some from my sil.
Now, I have almost finished giving away my maternity clothes. I only have one maternity dress and a few big long flowery blouses. The one and only maternity dress will be kept as a remembrance. As for the big long flowery blouses, I am not too sure yet. I love these blouses a lot and unwilling to let go of them yet even though I might not be wearing them in the near future.
It is not easy to find maternity wears in Kuching. <-- This sounds familiar, I ever mentioned this in my blog! Yes, I found that sentence in a paid post I wrote before! ;p
Let me list down the places you can get maternity wears in Kuching:
Expensive range (RM100 & above per piece):
1. Modern Mum, Tun Jugah Shopping Mall.
2. Ladies floor, Boulevard Departmental Store.
I did not get any branded pieces. Two reasons, I think they are over priced and there is no size for me for the one that I like. Gosh, I visited for at least 2 times wishing they will get new stocks, but no, throughout my pregnancy, the same clothes hang there! :(
Medium range (RM70 over per piece):
1. A boutique at Sarawak Plaza.
I bought 2 pairs of long pants there. Good material!
2. Ladies floor, Boulevard Departmental Store.
Only realised that there are new brands and stocks during chinese new year when I went there with my sil.
Reasonable range (RM29 and above per piece):
1. Ladies floor, Upwell Departmental Store at Jalan Song.
I bought my one and only maternity dress there! Good material with reasonable price.
2. Ladies floor, Boulevard Departmental Store.
You should visit this section, they have wide variety of maternity wear now!
3. Ladies floor, Ngiu Kee Departmental Store, Saberkas.
I bought 3 pairs of long pants and a pair of short pants there! Quality is ok, the pants are still in good condition but looks old. ;p
4. A boutique outside Everrise, 4 1/2 miles.
They have a lot of nice tee shirts. The quality is not bad too. I know because I have 2 of them but I bought them from Everrise. I only found out this boutique during cny.
5. Everrise.
You will need to look for the section. It is not too easy to find. ;p
Review on the Everyday Minerals Eye Shadows
Thanks to Everyday Minerals for giving out eye shadows as free gift during the Christmas sales. I finally got my hands on the eye shadows.
Overall, I think the eye shadows are good. The area near my eyes is kind of sensitive. If I wear eye shadows for too long or did not remove them properly, my eyes will get itchy and I can't avoid myself from rubbing them. But with this Everyday Mineral eye shadows, I have no such problem. I can wear it everyday and do not have to put extra effort in washing it off.
It is not too difficult to apply the powder form of eye shadow onto your lids if you are using the brushes from Everyday Minerals. I am not sure about other brushes though.
The eye shadows that I got are Sleigh Ride, Christmas Carol, Silver Bells.
From top:
Sleigh Ride is dark purple and it is suitable to create smokey eyes. It is not shimmery, the shiny pigment on my hand should be from the other 2 colours as I did not clean the brush first.
Christmas Carol is shimmery green but with a bit yellowish. I like this colour very much.
Silver Bells is shimmery silver, I would love it more if it is lighter.
Plastic case for my mineral makeup
I love the plastic cases and cardboard boxes to organize my stuff. They are space-saving as they can be stacked up. :) The place looks tidy after keeping all the small stuff into the boxes.
Anyway, those small jars from Everyday Minerals give me a good reason to get another plastic case to keep them in place.
Dang dang dang dang~~~
I got the case from Parkson for RM4.90. There are 3 colours: pink, blue and black. Suddenly, I love this pink a lot lately.
Anyway, look at the sticker, it says the case is suitable for game (looks like a Nintendo DS), drug and tool. But for me, it is perfect for my mineral makeup and the brushes.
View from top. Pretty right?
Open up.
I put the 5 most frequently used jars on top. They are what I wear daily like the concealer, semi-matte foundation, blusher and eye shadow. All the other jars go into the lower compartment together with my brushes and a small pink flower mirror.
Close.
See, I can bring my mineral makeup anywhere I want now, even on traveling. It is so convenient!
Budget trip to Kota Kinabalu (KK) - Day 3
Waking up another day happily again! We were going to visit 2 famous places in a day. The Islands and the Mountain!
But first thing in the morning, we must first fill up our stomaches. KCLEE and CPH brought us to this coffee shop and have seafood noodles.
Seafood soup.
My yummy breakfast!
Next, KCLEE and CPH dropped us at the Jesselton Point.
@pple, sandbox, ccw and I bought the 2 islands hopping tickets.
After going through the bumpy speed boat ride for about half an hour...
We reached Manukan Island and quickly find a shade to unload our bags.
After applying the sunblock on my face, hands and legs, we jumped into the sea and snorkeled around! OMG! FISHES! There are so many fishes and they are not small at all! I did not like to be surrounded by big fishes! But, I thought it was only me who scared of the big fish, so I did not make any noise. Some more, the 3 of them were busy looking for beautiful corals like we had been told. We moved onto another spot, trying to find some corals. But at the spot, ccw kept telling me to look at the bigger fish coming towards us. I was then realized that they all miss the BIG fishes at the earlier spot! OMG, luckily the fishes are friendly enough and did not eat me up! The water there is a bit muddy and dirty, we did not really enjoy it. We left Manukan Island and heading to Mamutik Island.
Somehow, the crystal clear water here looks more welcoming and we quickly threw ourselves into it. This time, we found a lot of colourful corals!
This is the spot where we found the corals.
So, remember to go Mamutik Island if you wish to see corals. After a while, @pple told me the fishes here are vigorous. She held out his finger and the fish will move towards it as if it is food. Then, ccw made some noise, saying the fish was biting him!! I think it is better to run!
OKK found that there was a biting mark on his thigh and it's bleeding! Conclusion: Fishes are friends not food! I seldom eat fish, and maybe that's why they do not attack me! Phew~
Some of the beautiful photos taken there...
Look at the fishes forming a triangular shape.
We left the island at around noon time.
Leaving Jesselton Point.
Lunch time! What is this?! Fish and parts bee hoon! Yummy! Drooling!
KCLEE is kind enough to bring us back to his place to take bath upon hearing us complaining that there is no water on the island!
Guess what? I realized that I got sunburn on my shoulders and also scalp! *sob sob* I never know that sunblock is important! My first time getting myself burnt by the sun! The experience is not too good. My shoulders were all red and they are burning. It hurts when I touched on my scalp! Again, thanks to KCLEE for giving me his aloe vera gel to sooth the burning area on my shoulders and scalp.
It tooks hours to reach Nabalu, a view point where we are supposed to be able to view the Mountain Kinabalu. But due to the bad weather, we could not see anything. We only stopped and visited the toilet.
The photo was taken on the way up to Kundasang. I think there is fairy up there! Haha...ya, many have climbed up to the top and found no fairy. ;p
There was landslide 1 or 2 days before and we had to stop while waiting for the workers to clear the road. We reached the resort quite late that night.
We stayed overnight at Zen Garden. The rate is reasonable, RM121 for a triple room with dinner included as well. :)
We played cards and had junk food, wine, soft drinks, just like how we used to spend nights at the beach resorts back in the school days.
End of Day 3 in KK.
