Thank you, BabyWeekly!

Baby Weekly is a newsletter which is sent out every weekly to update the parents on the progress of their little baby since week 1. I love reading it! From there, I get to learn the development of my baby. Even though every baby has different progress, but it is good to have some guide along the way. Well, I seldom read up from other magazines or books from bookstore, maybe that's why I found this useful.

Actually, it is ccw who subscribed to the PregnancyWeekly last time, then he made a copy to me. After baby Cola is delivered, the newsletter automatically changed from PregnancyWeekly to BabyWeekly. Another reason I like it also maybe my expected due date and the actual due date is on the same day, thus I received the newsletter exactly on the right time.

Last week, I receive the last newsletter from BabyWeekly.
Please click on the image to enlarge and read the details. ;p
Yes, congratulations to both ccw and myself. Gong xi! Gong xi! Haha...

p/s: Just realise that the candle shows in the photo is the same like what baby Cola had on his birthday cake! keke... What a coincident!

11-months-old

Physical:
Weight: ???
Height: ???
Ok, we did not measure him. I think should be about the same like previous month. I can see not much gaining.

Sleep:
Sleep at around 9:00pm, his sleeping pattern slightly changed. Before this, he went into sleep right after finishing his milk. But recently, he tends to sit up and play for a while before he goes to bed. Still wake up at least 2 times at night for milk.

Feeding:
Milk - Switching from Mamex Gold to Enfapro A+.
Porridge - 1 bowl of porridge each for lunch and dinner.

Interesting parts:
  • He has 8 teeth now. It is quite exciting to see the progress of the teeth surfacing one by one.
  • He can sit up steadily now.
  • He learn to crawl using his ankles but on when he is placed on bed.
  • He is quite brave when come to standing, once he got himself up, he will try to let go of whatever he is holding. But, we will have to catch him before he falls. He also dare to move himself from one side to another when he is in his cot.
  • He is good at playing the shape sorter. When he dropped the block into the correct hole, we will cheer and clap for him. Then whenever he heard I say he is ??, he will clap. Sometimes, he just put the block near to the hole and quickly free his hand so that he can clap! LOL!
  • He loves wheels. When he sees cars or wheels, he will make the sound "vroom" or to be more exact, it is "voom". When I turn to the page where show cars, he will make the sound voom and try to grab the cars. When he cant take it out, he will turn to look at me and cry. Duh!
  • He will point and direct you to the place he wants to go. He cried when you refuse to bring him there.
  • He knows it when I scold or warn him. He will cry pitifully when I scold him.
  • He called Bulat "ko-ko", but he also call little moo moo "ko-ko"! Sometimes, he called the little girl at shopping mall as "ko-ko" too. I think he thought all the little kids are "ko-ko".
  • He also learns to call Papa, Mama and Gong gong but not Po Po.
  • He tells you there are dogs by saying "ong ong". He knows "dog dog" as well.
  • He follows us when we say "haiyo" or "Uh-oh".

Remarks:
Love the way he called us in soft and gentle voice, then when we turned to him, he will show us "paiseh" expression (like you know, smile with mouth closed and placed the lips against each other tightly and smile, with high voltage eyes) and tried to hide his face away! So sweet~~~~

Baby Cola's First Birthday

My boy is 1-year-old!:)

We threw a birthday party for him. It was just a simple buffet style dinner to treat our guests.

Initially CCW thought of making him a 3D car design cake because baby Cola loves car. We want him to be able to recognize the car, so we thought of making a 3D cake with the Thomas train design.

I think the Thomas train looks cute! It is exactly the same like what we have provided to the cake house.

The cupcakes I insisted to have even though no one supports me! Hahaha...

You see, the idea is like this, baby Cola got his Thomas train on his birthday cake, the other kids can have smaller Thomas train on cupcakes, isn't it great? *shrug*

The cake house provided us with the cupcake stand. By the way, both the birthday cake and cupcakes are done by Taiwan Cake House.

Others, we packed into the lovely containers provided. I also requested my young sil to design a "personalized" mini thank you card.

The party would be perfect if baby Cola has fully recovered from fever that night. At least, he enjoyed himself when we sang him birthday song. He clapped happily. Then he tried to touch the candle light when we blew it off. He also acted along when cutting his birthday cake. Hehehe...Happy Birthday, my little boy! *muacks*

23rd Aug last year

I was getting ready to hospital at this hour to deliver baby Cola. Haha...

Today, after feeding baby Cola at 4am, I cant get back to sleep! Last night, I was still asking ccw silly question before I slept. I asked him will I have stomachache at 4am? LOL...And, when I recall back, I told him that: NO, I am not going to go through the process again. He agreed! Hahaha...I am not sure the reason why I say so, but I believe it is not about the pain itself, but the WHOLE process (pregnancy-delivery-confinement-look after baby). --> I need to emphasize on this as I realised that my post on my delivery process scared some of you. Haha..

Today, we are going to celebrate baby Cola's very first Birthday! Am really excited about it! Maybe that is the reason why I am wide awake at this time. Weird, I am not as excited when comes to my own birthday. LOL! In fact, it seems like I put more effort into his birthday party than my wedding. Or maybe this is a last minute plan and I got shorter time to prepare for it, so it makes ccw and I busier than the time we plan for our wedding? No idea. Last night my fil actually said that so the birthday got so many "macam" one la? Kekeke...I think I did not overdo it. I just make one thing extra I think, or the whole thing is an extra? Hahahaha....

Baby Cola got fever yesterday afternoon which made me worried. But just now when I fed him, his temperature seems normal already. I hope he is OK when he wake up later.

Modern Spaces

Like I said before, you do not have to put all the designer items inside your house to make a modern home. Sometimes, a few pieces of the designer items would make your home look totally different.

One of the element I would think of is vases. By putting one on the dining table at the dining room, or one on the coffee table at your living room would make your home become modern.

At AllModern.com, you can easily find yourself simple yet unique and elegant vases to add to your home decoration.

I found something that I love very much, the Artecnica - Thinking of You vase cover. It comes in three intriguing styles, which are Here, Now and Forever.

When you are bored with your old vase, just use these silver metal vase covers to embellish it. You can even cover up the ordinary glass jar or containers and transform them into lovely sculptural objects. Not forget to mention about the sweet names given to each vase covers which in full, they are Thinking of you Here, Thinking of you Now, Thinking of you Forever. It is a great gift for your loved ones.

If you are living in the United States or Canada, I recommend you to visit www.AllModern.com, I am sure you can find something you love there! Turn your living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen or even office into modern spaces today! A little modern furniture goes a long way!

Where to order cupcake in Kuching?

Ngek!

I have been searching for someone/bakery that make cupcake in Kuching since last week!

Seriously, there are not many! And, I am going to list out those I have contacted and with good services.

ilovegiftidea.blogspot.com

I might be bias since they are my friends, but well, the pricing and design of their fondant cupcake is really good! You can visit their website and take a look at their design for full moon gift.

edacupcakes.blogspot.com
Aida replied to my email with all the information I asked for. Only thing is that, I need to place order at least a week before, which I can't decide yet.

loveydoveycupcakes.blogspot.com
The owner, Ben, replied to my email promptly and answered all my questions accordingly. The knowledge I learn from him make me able to decide on the design, frosting type and so on.

The Darling at Green Height Mall
At first, I called but no one answer. Then later, the owner called me back. Once I told her the cartoon that I want, she immediately told me that she will make some sample for me. She did and contacted me the next day. She has made 3 samples with butter cream. I must say that her design is a piece of fine art work and very detail. The price she offered me is reasonable too. However, I decided to have the fondant frosting last minute.

Taiwan Cake House at Central Park
We talked to the owner + pastry chef, we provided her the cartoon that we want to have on the cupcake. She gave us some suggestions on the design and told me that she will call us after she has done with the sample. I also told her our budget and she helped us to figure out what to do. She called us back to her bakery 3 days later. Once we look at the design, immediately I place the order there.

If you are looking for someone who makes cupcake in Kuching, try to contact the above, they are all friendly and helpful.

A Sweet Dream

Very rare I dream.

Most of the time, my dreams are very unreal. Like only will happen in "movie". Like my best friend running after me with a knife in hand! Like I was a police and after some robbers with guns! Like inside a house full of traps.

But not last night.

I dream of the gang of friends back in school (F6) going somewhere like Matang or Damai or Sematan for a holiday. It is like what we did 10 years ago. OMG! I cant tell when the activity in the dream actually took place, we all look as young as 10 years ago, ^o^. But got 1 fraction of the dream, I felt myself as fat as now. Grr....But there is no baby Cola inside the dream. Hmm...*tapping fingers on my cheek*

The fun part is, the dream is so real that I can see and hear everything. I mean, the whole picture is like in real life, everyone moving and talking like we used to be.

And CPH! Surprisingly you are inside my dream too! I mean, it's explainable I dream about Fui, Okk, apple, ben, winnie, patsda as we met every now and then. Maybe Winnie has been talking about you recently. ;p

This morning when I wake up, I think it is odd I dream and that I actually remember it. Then just now I tried to tell ccw about it, you know, it is sometimes very difficult to describe a dream as they are unreasonable. I put the fractions together, the sweeter I think the dream is!

It reminds me of the days when we are still studying, no dating yet. When we are still friends, running Interact Club together as the board of committee, taking early break together as prefects, going movies together, celebrating birthdays together, etc. I have almost forgotten all those happy days if I did not dream last night!

Cheers for our friendships!

Bulat wants Thomas & Friends train

Called back from KL the other day:
Me: Mi, you got anything want me to get you from KL?
Mama: Hmm...nola. Not easy, later what you bought not suit me.
Me: Fine. Let me talk to Bulat.
Bulat: Ku-ku!
Me: Bulat, you got anything want to buy?
Bulat: Don't buy la!
Me: #$%^$%^! So good boy?!
Bulat: Where are you?
Me: Shopping la!
Mama: *laughing* He asked you do not simply spend money!
Me: ~,,~ (It is just too boring to shop alone, k?!)

The following is according to what my mom told me.

Few minutes after we hung up:

Bulat: Popo, I want to call kuku!
Mama: For what?
Bulat: I want to buy something.
Mama: What you want to buy?
Bulat: I want to buy train.
Mama: You already have it, why you still want to buy?
Bulat: It is faulty already. Cannot move!
Mama: Don't want la. That's very expensive. Kuku don't have money. 'x'!!!!

One day when I have discussion with teammate, I got a call.

Me: Hello?
Bulat: Ku ku?
Me: Yes?
Bulat: Where are you?
Me: Work work!
Bulat: you you....
I wanted to end the call as I am halfway in discussion, so I tried to make him get somebody else to answer the phone.
Me: You let kuku talk to gong gong ok?
Bulat: You want to look for gong gong har?
Me: Yes. Quick.
Bulat: Why you want to talk to him?
Me: @#$@^$#! Ok, what you want, tell kuku faster.
Bulat: you...buy the the...train for me ok?
Me: Ok. If I can find it then I will buy for you!
Bulat: You remember to buy ha!
Me: Ok, Ok! Kuku work work liao! Bye bye
Bulat: *hang up*

I called back and asked my parents what happened this morning. My mom knew nothing about it. My dad told me Bulat wanted to fight with him, so he got no choice and gave me a call to make it like I was looking for Bulat in order to distract him. *faint* This Bulat must be thinking I called back to ask him what he want to buy again!

And I really found it!

Now, I am still thinking whether I should just give it to him like that or keep it until Christmas.

If I just give him now, then will he think that he can ask me to buy him things whenever he want?

Colourful. Fun

Shape Sorter

Love to play this with baby Cola. At first, we want to encourage him to put the block into the correct hole, so everytime he managed to do that, we will clap and cheer. But recently, he just put the block on the opening and then straight away cheer and clap for himself. And, if he found that we did not cheer or clap, he will lose all his interest towards the toys. -.-"

Stack and Nest Barrel

So far, baby Cola still do not know how to stack up the cups yet. He only learn to open up the barrels and throw them away. -.-"

Patient, that is what the parents need most.

I wonder the colourful toys are created for the parents or the children. I mean, parents play with the toys more than children sometimes. Haha!!

Stand a chance to win $1000!

Two months ago, I blogged about ParentsConnect.com and the widget contest. Just in case you miss my previous entry, I will let you know what you need to do in order to get yourself the chance winning $1000. You still have chance because the contest is still running, which is from May 20, 2009 to midnight EDT on November 20, 2009.

ParentsConnect.com has released a local event widget. The ParentsConnect widget is a tool that helps parents discover what fun events and activities are available near them. Parents only need to enter the zip code of the location they stay into the widget and it will show you all the events and activities available at your area. So, attention to all the U.S parents, embed the widget in your blog or social networking profile and if you get the most widget impressions by November, you would be the Grand Prize winner.

I have embedded it in my blog, it is at the sidebar. At the bottom of the widget, you will notice there is a yellow bar, click on the "get and share" link. Choose the application you want to embed the widget and click on the Add to Account button. The widget will appear in your account automatically. It is as simple as that. Good luck!

In near future...

We will need 3 notebooks.

By the way, the pink toshiba notebook is gorgeous. Too bad, it is not mine!

He gave me his pacifier

This is supposed to be one of the interesting facts in baby Cola's 10-month-old record. Somehow I forgot about it until 2 nights ago when he did this again.

I fell asleep before baby Cola did 2 nights ago. How I know this? Well, I was awakened by baby Cola when he tried to put his pacifier into my mouth.

Maybe he was trying to stop me from snoring! Haha...

I am back to life

I took a photo of my life last month. It was like this...
The sky is high, the world is colourful but I was blocked from beautiful life by the iron grills.

Then, I took another photo at the airport while waiting for the red plane to take me home.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

But does the photo above tell you:

I wanted to go home?

The flight was retimed due to the delay of its arrival?

I was exhausted?

I had headache?

At home, my son was waiting for me.

That's the summary of the no blog days.
