Deeparaya Celebration

Kongsi Raya is not a new thing to the Malaysians anymore. In the previous years, the chinese and malay community had their new year celebration around the same time. And this year, Deepavali is just a day before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. For west Malaysians, they will have 3 days of holidays, Monday - Wednesday while the east Malaysians enjoy 2 days of holidays, Tuesday and Wednesday. Why is there a difference though we are all malaysians? Erm erm erm...GOOD question! mwhehee...As a multi-racial country, we have slightly too many holidays for celebrating different festivals of the races throughout the year. Therefore, i-dunno-who decided that west Malaysians are entitled to claim a public holiday for Deepavali while Hari Gawai is a public holiday to the east Malaysians. ^_^

Since this is a Kongsi Raya celebration again, so we, who celebrate none of the festivals mentioned above, will still have to celebrate it in our own way. ;p

CCW, sandbox, @pple, KC, Winnie, CPH, Ben, Boi, TW and I together prepared a delicious dinner on Saturday Night. During the discussion on Friday night, we came to the conclusion that no heavy dinner. So, we listed out the portion of food per pax. The list is as below:
1. Lamb Steak x 1
2. Chicken wing x 1
3. Sausage (small) x 2
4. Side dishes (brocolli, tomatoes, carrot and lettuce)
5. Fruits (Watermelon)
6. Small cup of Red Wine
7. A glass of fresh lime juice

Sounds healthy, right? hehehee...that is the quality food agreed by everyone.

On Saturday, once I got my leave approval from Bulat while he was still sleeping, I sneaked out with CCW and sandbox to shop for the ingredients.

We bought 3 reddish tomatoes, a packet of sausage, a china cabbage (not on the list??!! Well, since we have the lettuce, we should make some coleslaw if not fruit salad, right? ;p), a bottle of red wine, a bottle of Ribena and Sprite each (the 3 of us afraid that we might not have enough drinks). The other items on the list were bought by CCW earlier in the morning while shopping with his mama. Sandbox could not believe that we took less than an hour to gather all the thing that we needed. Mwhehehe...*wink* Wanna shop with me? I am definitely not a picky shopper as long as the price is reasonable. 'x'!!!

Home! CCW's prepared the mushroom sauce. I prepared the coleslaw at home and went over to the party at around 6:15pm. Then, CCW's sis and I chopped down the branches of the big tree (brocolli la ;p). Boi brought the lettuce over and left to attend another dinner. Ben, the first to arrived. Later, KC brought over the fruits. He also prepared the lime juice. After CPH and Winnie arrived, CCW started to cook the lamb and chicken wing. Winnie and KC were then helped to serve it while Ben opened the bottle of red wine.

HmMmMmM...maybe you would like to know how is the movie based on my personal opinion,
I would say it is a movie about selflessness rather than a movie of tragedy.

So, SELFLESSNESS would be the moral value of the day. =)

Shopping with Target

Planned to buy a pair of high-heels or a skirt for myself with RM100 on one Sunday afternoon when I was in a shopping mood.

Stepped into Tun Jugah. Looked around at vicci high heels, none fit my feet. Yeap...I prefer certain pattern for high heels. Moved on to the miniature corner, bought a bottle of crystal oil for hair at RM25.

Before leaving the building, I bought a RM30 reload card for handphone.

There, I only had RM45 left for high-heels or skirt ;p

Walked across the road, headed to Sarawak Plaza. Scanned around the big LEA footwear shop. OMG, the particular pattern of high heel that I like is not to be seen! *SIGH*

Then, I dragged my feet to Watson, bought a lip defense. Goodbye to another RM10. What should I do with the leftover? I suggested to have a piece of cheese cake. When walking towards the coffee bean, saw the menu on KFC's table. Since when they have cheesecake? So instead of turning right to push open the door lead to coffee bean, we turned left towards KFC. Ordered cheesecake and some fried chicken, there RM15 gone ;p.

Hahahaa...so RM20 left in the purse, neither a skirt nor a pair of high heels is bought.

When I am in the shopping mood, I always get upset if fail to get anything.

*shake head*

Yes, I know it is not easy to be a sensible lady.

Engagement Sweets

Just want to show the traditional engagement sweets that we have in Kuching.

However, "yummy" is hidden inside this moden package.

At first, I thought there will be the chocolates inside. But to my surprise, there are the 2 mini traditional sweets. Yippie..

And this is the one that I love. =)


Yum...oh enjoying eating it until I forgot to take photos for the other one.

Well, I still prefer the traditional packaging...because the sweets that I love would always come in 2. ^_^

1. is love. Yeap, heart shape is always the symbol of love. To me, I have differenet definition for different type of heart shape. My favourite would be heart shape with the outline only, because it seems to tell me that there is space for me inside the heart. =)

2. Holding hands is one of the most meaningful way to express love for each other (though my palms sweat)

3. With love, sharing and caring are as simple as 123 or ABC. It is great that you know there is always this someone who is willing to share and care about you 24 hours per day and 7 days per week.

Moon Day 2006 @ Taman Sahabat

On the Moon Day, Laksamana Cheng Ho invited all his friends to play lanterns at his garden. Even though I only received the invitation at the very last minute, I still rushed there to have a look. Instead of lantern, I brought along my camera.

There are lotsa lotsa young girls and boys decorating the garden with colourful lanterns. Here are some photos.


And, no play play, this is the Lanterns Tree. They got the 1st Place that night (I mean if there were a competition). There are about 7-8 of them kept their eyes on the lanterns and the candles on the floor to make sure they were all lit up. Sorry guys and girls for interrupting you just to take photos for this Lanterns tree =)




*This photo is dedicated to the young boy who placed the candle onto a piece of plastic bag that made it float on the water.

When I was taking this photo, I heard him telling his friend:"Hey, I am going to get famous with this candle. People is taking photo for it." Kekekeke...and my replied:"Hey, you want me to take a photo for you together with the candle??" But he was just too shy. Otherwise, he might get some fame here. LOL!!!

HMMM...I like this kind of feeling, when everybody, not knowing each others, gathers together at a place and chatting like friends. =)

As you already know, the weather is soooooo bad bad bad! *uhuk uhuk* I am not sure what is the latest API but my itchy nose and skin told me that it is around 200! *sneeze*

Now, what you might not know yet. Besides from the BAD weather, there is very limited water supply in the evening. *uhuk uhuk* But luckily the water supply will be back to normal after 10pm.

Anyway, I am still surviving...

Another Weekend

On Satuday night, went to watched Rob-B-Hood with the gang of 6. The movie is not bad, funny + touching. Sometimes, human is I am funny. Even though I knew that it was just a movie, but when I watched the scene where the doctor pumped the blood from the little baby, tears still rolled down my cheeks.

Sunday, spending most of the time with bulat since my SIL had to OT and my parents visited my aunt (Her 90th Birthday!) Woo...and she is still capable to make the lui cha paste for sale. The ingredients of the lui cha paste are all planted by her too.


For those who never know how does a lui cha feast look like...

There are actually 8 dishes in the photos. Hopefully you can figure them out by yourself. Add the dishes that you like into your bowl of rice. Yeap, it is customisable. After that, pour the soup into it and that is lui cha.

Brought bulat to shopping at night. We bought lanterns for him! Haha...I hope he will like the lantern because he was not in the mood to choose one. It was hot and noisy (people talking and the sound from the lantern).

Kekeke...The lantern basically has light, sound and movement. The coulourful Mickey Mouse which might be from Disiniland dances with the song called "Lambada" when it is turned on.
