Chinese New Year Countdown...2,1,...

It is Day 29! YAY!! Gonna have reunion dinner soon, to be exact it is about 4 hours from now. My bro (bro#2) has just reached home from Penang an hour ago.

On Day 28, Mama and I arranged another pot of flowers? It is not really flowers but some leaves and branches. We named it red pandan & dried bean curd stick.

And this, the orchid in cracked vase. 'x'

After that, we unpacked the cookies and nuts bought and put into bigger jars. Koko (bro#1) cut the bbq pork into rectangular shape.

While we were busy working, mama was playing the tong dong dong chiang songs.

And today, NOW, we are going to prepare 2 dishes now which are bbq lamb and bbq chicken wings. LOL...I think no one will think of having bbq for Reunion Dinner as it is so troublesome. FYI, it was mama's idea! Cool, isn't it? I kept telling papa and koko that she has finally come out with a good idea to make herself more relax on Day 29. We will do the bbq and she can prepare 2 dishes less. HAHA

When come to Chinese New Year celebration, the greatest part of all would be REUNION of a family. Somehow, I believe that the atmosphere of CNY is there only when the family spend it together.

I remembered I saw an local advertisement yesterday. The story of that advertisement is touching. It is something like this:
There are about 4-5 nenek tua sitting at a round table and eating. They take turn to talk about their children. Nenek 1 told the rest his son is a lawyer and earn alot of $. He is always so busy when I call him. Nenek 2 said his son is doing direct sale business. His business network is all over the world. Then Nenek 3 said that his son is a doctor at LONDON. He can earn berpuluh-puluh thousands from an operation. All the nenek are so proud talking about their sons and how much they earn. Then one nenek is holding out her fingers and trying to kira the figure that her friend's children earn. Then suddenly, one nenek ask this nenek 4.
"Eng, how about ur son??"
Eng answered: "My son? Oh he is fine. He is going to drive me out later." And a while late, her son arrives with his family. Nenek Eng then goes with her son and family to Cameron highlands happily.
Although nenek-nenek are proud of their sons, but they can only TALK about them. They cant even chat with them through phone sometimes because their sons are busy.

As a child, I think we should always make our parents feel proud of us if possible. And it is a MUST for us to spend time with them more if possible. I always have a weird feeling whenever listening to aunties just talking about their children's lives but don't really get involved in it.

So, let's be the generation that not only the one that our parents proud of but also the children that our parents able to see and touch everyday. Let's also be the generation that pass the chinese moral value -- "love and respect the elderly" to our next generation.

Rose

It is a nice rose, isn't it? My bf bought for me when we were attending friends convocation last year @ unimas.

I love roses, especially the dark red one. But this one is very special, the edge is red. Just browse through the net and learn that it is belonged to the family Floribundas (cluster roses). Btw, it is a great site, in case you like roses too, you can visit it @ http://www.classicroses.co.uk/. According to the site, this flower is named Sheila's Perfume. Not a nice name, tho. 'x'

You can search the roses by family, size, and colour. There a lot of pictures on the roses too.

Chinese New Year Countdown...5,4,3,...

tong dong dong dong CHiaNG~~ erm... this sound familiar...i am not referring to the song...AHHH...it is my friend. Khik...He used to call himself according to seasons. He named himself Christmas Chiang during christmas season. I think there is no other better nick for him on this coming CNY. 'x' I will tell him tomorrow.

Ya, so I have been busy working during the day and shopping at night. Basically, my mama shop for relatives' gifts while I busy buying cookies. Last night, mama and I went to Green Gallery at BDC and Bought vases (one big and one small) for our flowers. Tonight, mama told me how she wants her orchid to be arrange in the small vase. So, I started to get into work right after my shower. My mama insisted to put in some batu into the vase so that it will not peng leng kak easily. Then, I put in the sponge. Oopss not the red sponge, it is green. The sponge was cut a little bit too big and could not get into the vase. So I tried my best to push it in and gave it a push or i should say "xiang lung shi ba zhang" (if u watch those hongkong kung fu series). *piak* OMG! The vase is CRACKED! I never know that my "xiang lung shi ba zhang" is so lihai already. haha. Back to the topic, so mama had to help me to cut the stucked sponge while I held the vase for her. :(

The next thing, mama told me the design that she saw in the morning. Deal to the reason that I have actually cracked her vase, I decided to arrange the flower in the way she likes. But, she couldn't really describe it. :( Anyway, I still followed her ideas la. But it did not turn out nice. It looks weird! LOL! When she gave up, then I got the chance to do it my way! Yeah!

*sob sob* I am suppose to show you a picture of the Orchid...But koko din borrow me his digicame as he promised to. Maybe I will update this post again someday lo!

Btw, I just find a pic of the fake doggie that I have. So I make a card for you all! HAPPY CHINESE NEW WOOF WOOF YEAR!

Out of Service...AGAIN!

WHY WHY WHY EON cash deposit machine is always under what what what maintenance or what process???!!! In short, it is OUT OF SERVICE! The due date of the credit card payment is always on 26th! And that what what what maintenance is always schedule on 25th night??!!!! How to make payment like that???? Why dont just put the due date on 25th instead???!!!

I went to the at Jalan Keretapi at ard 9pm, the machine was out of service. So, I decided to continue with my mama's shopping mission first. Later, at ard 11pm, I went to EON at Jalan Song Thian Cheok, and the machine was also under the same process. So angry! Cant the process be scheduled to after midnight? Why have to be so early?

Is there any schedule when the stupid machine is available??? Pls la, stick it BIG BIG somewhere near the machine, k??? Else, send a mail to me la!!! Wasting my eFFort, time and petrol to visit each branches in kuching!

Okay, luckily I was not the only suku kia go make payment at this time. I met some FRENS when i visited both branch. And i tell u, everyone of them is very upset with that machine.

SO, dear EON, even if u have the FREE FOR LIFE credit card, if ur service is so lousy, sooner or later, we will just have to say BYEBYE to you!!

Chinese New Year Countdown...10, 9, 8, 7, 6, ...

This year, there is no Day 30th for Month 12 in chinese calendar. Therefore, we will have our reunion dinner on 29th which is on this coming Saturday! CNY is just around the corner! He he..

Since I have this blog here, I would just record down what I did during the last week before CNY!

Went shopping with my bf. We went to Satok and Everrise. Traffic jammed everywhere!

Preparing the ingredients for ngo hiang.

Afternoon
Making tit-bits for u, u and u when u visit me during CNY. Erm it is the fried seaweed la. I put 2 pieces of seaweed O...if you are lucky, u might get the 3 pieces der.

Night
Went to padungan, walked along the street and tried out some of the bak kua, cookies and cakes offered. Some stalls even offered tissues for you to wipe ur oily fingers. The service is quite good! One thing that the stall owners have missed out is DRINKS. 'x' They should prepare mineral water so that we can test the sample betul betul. OR maybe they earn some commission from the drinks stalls???!! A surprise, since when KCH's businessmen have became so generous? Almost every stalls offer you 'sample', except May Flower and of course all the stalls that selling drinks. The cakes cut into tiny little pieces, the bak kua is obviously bigger pieces than last year and the cookies are in PERFECT shape. I still remember that the samples offered last year were erm so tiny that u can hardly have any taste when you put it into ur mouth or the cookies were erm something like they just picked up those that dropped onto the floor. I used to reject all the samples offered. Mama said do not eat anything offered by strangers. ahaha...Anyway, I tried some this year since the stalls owner kept persuading me.

Ah, chatted with my OLD friends just now. We talked about website, server, domain...etc. I feel like to register my own site after talking to her. Btw, her site is http://www.frostie1980.com. She was actually complaining abt backache causing from working on her site for too long! I think the site is just like her BaBy. If only I have one, I would have to sleep with my PC as bolster!

Back home early from work

After work, I reached home at ard 6:10pm. It was early! I have been working OT for weeks. Usually, my bro and sis-in-law will be home earlier than me. But not yesterday. At 6:30pm, I welcomed them and greeted them the way they did to me when I go home late:

"WAH, you come back so late tonight?"

Then we had our first round of fruit dinner - KAM (mandrin orange)! Juicy!

While waiting for my mama to get dinner prepared, my sis-in-law suggested to have durian first. I seconded her. No objection from mama. I was a bit surprise so I asked again.

"We eat durian now BO! And I wont have ur dinner later BO!"

"Ya, I don't cook much dishes today!"

Oh...So, i carried out 2 durians with "ear" and laboured my butt at a good location on the kitchen floor. My sis-in-law then coming out holding a durian without "ear" in her hands. Show time. My papa took out the BIG mummy knife and "chop" on the durian. After three attempts, he opened up the durian using hands, splitting the durian into 2 halves nicely. *clap* While he was trying to attract us by open up the second one, we started to taste the yummy durian. It is sweet! ~mMMmMMM~

Ok done! I was full!!!! I did not join my family for the proper dinner.

I went online. Chatting with friends for a while then went offline ard 8:00pm.

Nothing to do. Asked mama and sis-in-law go out, they said no.

I continued doing nothing.

Mama said there is ang mo liulian (soursop). So I ate ang mo liulian. OH! it is sweet too! *Thumbs Up*

I had had a FRUIT dinner. hee...

Then, I suggested to play mahjong! We set up the table and played. Maybe we are not in the right mood, so after one round, we cincai play already. My sis-in-law started to peep at the cards. My bro accidentally open a card which is supposed to be my sis-in-law next drawing card. My sis-in-law refused to take that card and took another one instead. And the game went on. Halfway through the game, We overheard converstations between papa, mama and uncle. Their converstation is abt neighbourhood, sounds interesting. Finally the game end, no one win out. I think we were tired. So I left the table after that game and joined papa, mama and uncle.

At abt 9:30pm, uncle's fren came to check the glasses for MyVi. Ya, I just spent RM350 to make sunglasses for MyVi. Hmm no comment abt the tinted glasses.

At abt 10:15pm, i was in bed! HAHA...it is a boring night!!!!

I couldn't sleep!!! I climbed out the bed and packed my clothes into the bag for YOGA on this coming friday! It tooks me less than one minute! Finally I decided sleep early.

YOGA

Went for the 2nd lesson today! Seems like I have some improvement o ... hehe

Since 2005, or ever since I start working, I try to expose myself to as many activities/events as possible.

Attending a dancing class is a dream since little girl, so I am trying best to make it come true. Though Yoga is not a real dancing class but cincai la, as long as there is body movement ma. Or u think at the age of 25, u can still join a BALLET class? I know there are other dance like social dance, but u think those classes available in Kuching? So sad. AH so people out there, this is an opportunity for you to MINE gold. Any belly dance instructor??!! hahaha..

Erm..the next thing I want to do is to take up a musical instrument course. Hmmm..I want to learn cello. I like the giant violin. Cool right? But I have no idea how to play it. Anybody knows is there any course for cello available in Kuching? How much does a cello cost? Aiyer, might not afford again. Next year la! Learn a thing at a time la, do not want to be too greedy.

BTW, I just recall something happen in the dancing class just now. The 13th Panda made me BURST into laughters. JOO~, u should tie up ur OH-SO-HEALTHY long hair when yoga-ing! GOSH, u r exactly look like ZHEN ZI when I accidentally SAW u in the mirror! Luckily there is no box placed behind u, if there is any, it will be like ZHEN ZI climbing out from the TV. haha, I din laugh so much when I went with pink cotton and the other 2 girls last week, u know? Now thinking about it, I feel abit embarrassed liao. Everybody was stretching there and I suddenly *puf* and laughed! Sian ;p

Today is 12th January 2006. Still consider as new year la, HO? My new year resolution is to learn to manage STRESS! AHA..i think i should smile more when feel stressful. =)

Hah..GOODbye 2005.
Am suppose to fill up the spreadsheet with WHAT I have done for my company in 2005. FOR WHAT? For performance appraisal lo! It's kinda fun to do it la. When look back at what I have done, i got a few surprises lo. Have been doing some new tasks. I can still remember that when I was first assigned to do it, I was quite worried that I might not able to perform the task well. But then I just did it! OF COURSE I did it with guides and advices from my helpful colleagues la. Overall, 2005 is just another earning year in the sense that I learnt something new in working environment. Life is a learning cycle, so I think i am still living when I learn new thing, ya? Gee...just ignore me! Haha

1. BOUHGT myself A car!!! Yeah!!!!!! This is not a dream of mine since little though. Some of my lady friends dream to have car but I never plan to buy any except Mercedes (Any model). I just dont like to drive and I prefer to be passenger! However, to be an INDEPENDENT lady, I must get myself a CAR! AND that's why I bought one for myself! No description on the car cos it is not the main point here! hehe
2. Met 2 important MEN in my life: an author and an artist! The author motivates me (I am not going to talk about him as I already blog it b4 in another blog) and the artist proves to me that what is called HANDSOME. waiseh! Hahaha...ARE YOU READY to know who is this artist? He is ANDY LAU! *AHEM* I really enjoy his concert...ah...I miss him!
3. Savings! Although do not save alot, but I am quite happy that I did save some after working for 1 1/2 year. Not easy to save, U know?!!
4. TRAVEL with family. A dream VACATION = travelling with my parents and brothers in June 2005. So far, that is the only time that we have been travelling together. I treasure those moments.

HMMM i guess that is it abt 2005. AHA~ there are some unbelievable and unforgettable events in 2005.
1. My best friend told me that she is getting married!!!! AH..I cant take this at first although she was telling me 6 months b4 the BIG day! LOL...I blame her for forcing us to move into another stage in life! DAH..our conversation will soon be like..OH ur hubby my hubby and gradually bcome UR SON AH, AH UR DAUGHTER IS SO SWEET! OMG!
2. I DIN eat any BIJI of DURIAN in 2005!!! CAN u imagine that???? heehe just realised i din hav any in 2005 when i eat my first biji of durian in 2006 today!

ERm...WHAT has no changes in 2005 then?
1. PIMPLES still on my face! Yeah, they are my good old buddy. If one day they are not seen on my face, i might miss them! *sigh* Hey buddies, why dont u consider to work in somewhere else like my other frens do, say KL, Spore or NZ???!!
