Cherry

It is my first time eating a fresh cherry when my pil bought some back from Singapore in June.

I love it so much!

Since then, whenever they went to West Malaysia or Singapore, they will bring back some for me. :)

But I just get to know that we have it at Choice Daily in Kuching too. ;p

Week 36

Hi baby Cola,
We have gone through this far! Hope you enjoy the journey so far! =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Surprisingly, doctor told us that baby Cola's legs are long. 'x'
And he is 2.63 kg! Doctor estimates that he will be around 3kg when born.
CCW asked the doctor when he estimates baby Cola will come out and the doctor asked him back:"Why? You want 080808 to be his birthday?" Then, he started to count on the date "seriously". He said:"I am not sure unless you opt for caesarean section. Or maybe we can try to induce your baby on the 7th! You want to try?!"
Me: @@! Just for the date?!
Doctor: Ya, so that you can remember it easily. True. *pointing at his children's photo* My youngest son is born on 050505. So easy to remember, right?
Me: You purposely do that?! I mean induce the baby or c-sect.
Doctor: *shake his head*
Me: Phew~
Anyway, I have put on another kg, 67.1kg now. Ccw told me it is ok as baby Cola and me share half a kg each. -.-"
Throughout the pregnancy, I did not consume the vitamin and supplement pills as prescribed by the doctor. I really dislike to take pills except for Panadol that can help me to get rid of my headache in half an hour time. So, I told the doctor that I was actually taking the vitamin he gives me every alternative day. He was quite shocked and told me to take it everyday and starting next week, I should take 2 tablets per day. He told me that I will lose a lot of blood during the delivery! So, it is important for me to take the supplement.
Hee...blood, I feel weak! 'x'!!
Open Cisco certification
Recently, a friend of mine who is from Civil Engineering background has enrolled himself into IT course. He is planning to take up another degree in IT field. It is quite a surprise as the 2 fields are quite different but as long as he is interested, I believe he can do it well.
Talking about IT, I am actually a computer science graduate and have been working in information technology field for 4 years now. From my experience, we need to upgrade ourselves from time to time. Within the 4 years time, I have attended a few in-house trainings and also the MySQL administration course conducted by other training center. Now, I would say that even the job scope I involve is more towards software engineering, but I am sent by my company to attend the course which is more appropriate for database administrator (DBA) too. In fact, I would say that the more you know, the more advantage you get. It helps me to reduce the dependency on DBA and the work can be done faster.
After equipped myself with database administration knowledge, maybe I shall consider to go for networking field. From time to time, I need to go down to customer site to gather requirement. Network is always an issue when conducting site visit. Cisco certification can certainly help to boost up myself in this field. There are a wide range of training programs offer from entry level to specialist in networking. Having CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) can help me with my current job and in future, it can widen the opportunity in my career.
He is a happy father!
This blue plastic bathtub was chosen by CCW. He is really happy with this purchase. He was so excited when he found this last piece at Parkson the other day. I think he can actually imagine how his son playing in it and treating the bathtub as his toy car already. He insisted to get the bath mat as he said it is important for him to make sure baby Cola would not slip off when he bath his son. Well, I hope they will really enjoy the bath time by then! ;p
Bling Gnome
Bling Gnome is the magical character in the online video game "Dungeon Runners". Why is it magical? If you play RPG game, you shall know that each player normally has a limit on the items they are carrying with them. Due to this reason, player sometimes is forced to drop / give away some of the items in order to carry other more useful items. With this bling gnome, player can get him to carry any unwanted items and they will give you gold by doing golden squat. Player does not need to bring the items all the way to the shop to trade in in order to get gold.
With my imagination, I have created my own bling gnome.
To make my gnome look cool, I give it a pair of sunglasses and help it to put on the shirt with a dragon sew onto it. I also decorate it with a big gold medal around in front to make it bling.
In fact, there is a gold earring on the left ear too!
Now, if you are interested to play the online video game, please visit blingGnome.com. You can download the free game, or purchase a subscription for yourself.
Budget trip to Kota Kinabalu (KK) - Day 1
* This is a backdated post. When? Sometimes in October 2007! Well, it was too long ago that I have forgotten the exact date! ;p *
The trip is unexpected. It is initiated by CCW as CPH and KC are shifted to KK temporarily. Everyone agreed to fly IF there is any low fare offered. Then, CCW told me that Airasia offered cheap ticket, to and fro for RM127. Thus, I forced everyone to fly. I bought the tickets for sandbox, @pple, winnie, ccw and myself.
~~~~

Flight from Kuching to KK is supposed to take off at 9:00pm. Due to some kind of traffic jam at Kuching International Airport (keng le, as if KIA is a busy aiport ;p), our flight was delayed. We reached KK International Airport at 11:10pm.

CPH was already waiting eagerly for us Winnie at the airport. For the first time, we arrived at a airport besides from KIA with someone awaiting for us. The feeling is so warm. It would be great IF AND ONLY IF CPH can pick up everyone and not Winnie alone. ;p

~~~~
Sandbox, @pple, ccw and I took a cab to Akinabalu Youth Hostel. I was very keen to find out how does a backpacker hostel look like.
The sharing place where you can watch tv, online and so on.
The bathroom and toilet are clean.
The bedroom. We need to spread the bedsheet ourselves. Sarung is provided as blanket.
The iron double-decker bed makes me step backward! The bed is noisy! :(
CPH brought us to Upper Star for supper. No photo to show you. I was quite tired as the clock ticking to 12midnight already.
We ended the day immediately after finishing the food we ordered.
End of Day 1 in KK.
WarGames 25th Anniversary Back in Theaters
Temp-image_1_1
Talking about movies, I suddenly recall one of the classic movies back in the 80's "Back To The Future". Do you still remember the time machine DeLorean? As a little girl, I got very curious about it and could not stop imagine myself appearing in different time space.
The WarGames, another movie that was ahead of its time is on showing at selected theaters in US on Thursday, July 24th. This WarGames 25th Anniversary event is one night only and will include never-before-seen interviews with film’s creators, the cast (including Broderick and Ally Sheedy) and crew, and also the making of the sequel – WarGames: The Dead Code. Stamping Nail Art
CCW bought me a set of Konad stamping nail art kits.
2 image plates (7 designs on each platem - m25 & m54), 3 special nail polishes (white, black & wine red), 1 stamper and 1 scraper. This set costed S$29.90.
After reading the instruction from the little booklet, I tried it out last night. Guess what? I managed to stamp the design onto my nails. =) It is not too tough!
So far, I have only played around with one image plate - m25 and the white colour nail polish. Might need to get more practice to come out with more professional stamps.
Just share with you the 6 simple steps to decorate your nails:
Please note that the word "QUICKLY" in step 4, I think that is the key point in the whole process. :)
For more information, you can visit http://www.konadnail.com
***Updated on 23rd July: I have added in some details of the image plate code and the colour of the special nail polish, the price and the website to look for more information.
Finally! Full Time Carpal Tunnel Relief
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by the pressure on the median nerve. Repeating the same hand movements can lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. People whose jobs require gripping with the wrist held bent such as jobs related to computers, musicians, carpenters are among the people with high risk to get it. Sometimes, it is related to pregnancy too.
Normally, patient will feel the pain in the wrist that can extend to the hand, numbness in the finers or hand, a sense of weakness in the hand and also constant loss of feeling in certain fingers.
There are a few treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome patient. Patient can take pain medication to relieve the pain. Or, doctor might inject drug such as cortisone to help ease the pain by relieving swelling and infammation on the wrist. But the pain will come back after the injection. If the numbness or pain persist, surgery might be needed. The surgery involves cutting the ligament that may be pressing on your median nerve. After surgery, it might take weeks to months before one can return to previous activity levels.
ImakWell, we can actually prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by using wrist splint such as the IMAK® SmartGlove®. The patented SmartGlove serves as carpal tunnel relief. It also helps prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by encouraging proper hand and wrist position. It has the following features: washable, breathable cotton Lycra® for all day comfort; and a massaging ergoBeads™ pad under the wrist, which cushions and improves circulation. Other than that, it is reversible to fit left or right hand.
SugarBun
SugarBun at tHe Spring has extra menu, namely the ice-cream in cone and the waffle topped with ice-cream. And that's how ccw and I were attracted to have lunch at SugarBun yesterday!
Besides from ordering ourselves a waffle each as dessert, we had burgers too.
While I was biting this chicken burger, it reminds me of the school days!
Picture taken from SugarBun official website: http://www.sugarbun.com
I used to ask happyheart to "tapao" me a Chicken Burger from SugarBun whenever she bought one! Kekeke...Yum~
18th July 2007, Kuala Lumpur - Kuching
The last day of the honeymoon trip! Hiak!
That day, both CCW and I were having exactly the same feeling, that is "sian sian" when thinking of going back to work. :(
Time flies, it has been a year since our long wedding + honeymoon holidays!
Time really flies, a year ago, there is no Sushi King in Kuching. We still have to fly to KL for Sushi King!
And now, we have 2 Sushi King franchises open up in Kuching and you know that the sushi are just not that delicious anymore when you can have it everyday! Haha!
Flying back to Kuching at night and starting my new life in the new room at the new house.
End of Day 15.
p/s: I am proud of myself. I have finally published the whole trip in my blog! At first, I thought I would only publish up till the day at Disneyland! ;p
Bulat & TU-TU
I have been spending my time with Bulat for the last few days and I want to record every bit of the sweet memories into my blog.
In the morning, Bulat will follow me from a room to another and accompany to wash face, brush teeth, dress up. Once, he touched on my dress and said: "mei mei (pretty)." Sweet! Then, he will carry my handbag and we walked down the staircases together. He loves my bag all the time, no one knows what is the reason. Then, we will have breakfast together.
In the afternoon, he will ask me to have lunch by saying:"fan fan (rice)". Then sometimes, he will ask me to sit and watch him while he is drinking milk.
In the evening, he will be shouting and jumping in excitement when he sees me reaching home. If he heard that we talk about anything going out, he will start to asking to go "tai tai (going out)". He will be talking loudly and happily in his own language if I am driving him out in my car.
Whenever I tried to hide from him and he could not find me, he would shout out loudly for "TU-TU (auntie)".
However, I do not know why when talk about him, I will first think of him being a good and sweet boy. In fact, he is a very naughty boy most of the time that make me shout and scold at him! ~,,~
Hollywood Love
I remember that towards the ending of the movie "What happens in Vegas", when Jack Fuller found Joy McNally by the beach, he asked her:"Will you married me again?" Joy replied:"Being with you make me be myself again..." I think that line would really work in courtship.
There is this online video game called "Ultimate Flirting Championship" by Extreme Style by VO5 where you can try out the memorable lines to see whether they work or not. There will be 3 players in the game, a guy, a girl and a judge. If you are playing the role of the guy or girl, you would have to use all the classic lines that you can remember to flirt and the judge will do the rating!
By the way, while you are playing this game at Victory Hair website, you might get the chance to meet your Mr. Right or Ms. Right, as you can chat while playing the game.
Hand in Hand
CCW bought me this miniature decorative toy few years back?! I cannot remember when already but I love it a lot. Even though the 2 men are just about the size of 1/4 of my palm, but they manage to stand on their own.
Maybe, just maybe if there were only one of them, then he cannot stand up but with the other man's supports, they manage to stand up hand in hand.
The sight of "hand in hand" always gives me a very warm feeling.
Father to son: Come, daddy brings you buy ice-cream!
Well, I can stare at the miniature for hours and wondering...
Preparing for the arrival of Baby Cola!
The time is near.
*tick tock tick tock*
I am in week 34 of the pregnancy now. The full term is 40 weeks, just in case some of you might not aware of it. It is safe to give birth to baby from week 33 onwards. And most of the baby is delivered around week 37 - 38.
*tick tock tick tock*
Before I get too excited, let me do some update on Week 33 check-up!
We went for the check-up 4 days earlier then the schedule appointment as ccw is not around on the date.
Baby Cola is cute. OOPS! I mean, baby Cola was hiding his mouth with a hand when the doctor scanned his face. I saw his little fingers. I feel touched when I saw them.
We saw his nose too! Doctor told us where his 2 nostrils are! 'x' Psst, look like a mickey mouse nose too! HOW?! LOL!
Baby Cola is now weighed 2.1kg while I am reaching 66kg. Baby Cola finally gets onto the right track for the weight gain. :)
Over the weekend, I busy myself cleaning up the drawers to keep baby Cola's belongings. These few days, I get my mother to help me wash and dry the lampin and towels. I spent my time last night to fold the lampin for baby Cola! :) Enjoying myself doing all these.
I have almost finished getting the items on my shopping list except for the pampers, nail cutter and comb set.
Guess what? Cola's daddy told me he bought 4 sets of clothes of the same design, colour and size for baby Cola. Actually, Cola's grandma had bought 2 sets of the clothes for baby Cola last month and the material is good. But I did not expect that ccw will buy 4 more sets for him! Now, baby Cola got his uniform from Monday to Saturday! LOL! This is how ccw's first time shopping alone for his son.
Baby cola:"Thank you, daddy!" =)
Beck's Blogging
That's right. I have just blogged about Glenn Beck 2 days ago about his multiple roles from radio DJ to political satire comedian. Now, I am telling you that he is blogging too! Visit his website and access to his blog, I guarantee you that you might get amused by the way he blogs. No worry if you are not interested in politics, he blogs about environmental issues, concerns on society, topics related to food and drinks and even American idol. Personally, I am quite agree with him in one of his post where he mentioned about the organic food.
Just a reminder to you all, FathomEvents is going to broadcast Glenn Beck's current Summer Political Tour and the Dallas show on July 17th at selected movie theaters nationwide on the same date. :)
Get to know Glenn
Glenn Beck is one of the American top DJ, television host, author of New York Best Sellers and not forgetting that he is also one of the political satire comedian. I just watched one of the featured video on his website entitled "Real story - Energy Independence". His comedy show is so entertaining and at the same time bringing out the points of the current on-going issue in the America or the globe. I believe that watching his live show would be even more interesting.
By the way, FathomEvents is going to broadcast Glenn Beck's current Summer Political Tour and the Dallas show on July 17th at selected movie theaters nationwide on that date. Do not miss it!
17th July 2007, Macau - Kuala Lumpur
Last day in Macau!
We went over to Macau Tower and planned to have buffet there but the tickets were sold out.
What to do?!
Look! The "ring around the sun" phenomenon happened at Macau that day!
After taking few photos, we moved indoor and hunted for food.
We found this boulangerie (bakery that sells pasta, bread, croissant, pastries, chocolates, etc).
We had:
I know the food that we had are not FRENCH enough, but I just miss the hot food. That's why I did not choose anything from bread, croissant, pastries or baguette.
Love the chocolates!
We were leaving Macau and flying back to Kuala Lumpur that evening.
Goodbye...Macau!
Together with sweet memories, we brought Portugese egg tarts back to Malaysia!
Planning to have them as supper when we reached KL!
Reached Cititel at around 11pm. We were told by the receptionist that we ought to wait for 30 minutes as they were cleaning up the room.
@#$%&&*!
HELLO! We booked and paid the room in advance and even inform the hotel that we would arrive around what time of the day! How can there be no room available for us?!!
On my left, an impatient man in suits, about 35-years-old, was actually complaining to the receptionist in a loud voice. He even requested to see the hotel manager. Poor him, he was having a headache and I guess that's why he was in such a bad mood! Still, I think he was making reasonable complaint. He told the manager clearly that all he needs is a room for him to rest NOW! I believed he booked the room in advance too. By right, he can check-in once he reached the hotel.
Looking at the receptionist who served us, she was trying very hard to keep herself calm and do her job by looking at the monitor. Both CCW and I were GOOD people! We made no fuss. After she had done with the check-in procedure on her computer, she just escorted us to the cafe and settled us down with free drinks and supper. There, we saw many other people who were waiting for their rooms to be ready too! *shake head*
We had our supper and waited at the lobby patiently to go into our room. Poor us, paid for such service!
End of Day 14.
SocialSpark is Great for Mommy Bloggers
I am a mother-to-be. Writing paid post for SocialSpark is my part time job and I am telling you that I love my part time job more than my full-time job now. I would love to share my personal experience with you all. I believe that work from cozy home is everyone's dream nowadays. To us, pregnant ladies, who get tired easily even wish to work from home more than anyone else. Especially now during my last trimester, which is not really going on that smoothly as I was suffering from the skin itchiness last 3 weeks and now I am having insomia. Working 8:00am - 5:30pm is just too tiring for me sometimes. But to those who have to quit their jobs due to more serious condition, do not feel bad. You can still work from home by signing up with SocialSparks and start to write paid post to earn some money! You might even find that working from home does not actually block you from the social life. You will be able to make friends, especially mommies from SocialSpark.
Furthermore, I believe all mommies would love to spend time with their little ones especially when they are still babies. I always heard from friends and colleagues how much they miss their babies at home after the maternity leaves. I can understand their feelings very well. Who does not want to spend every second with the baby after carrying him/her inside the womb for months? Especially after spending another 2 months with him/her face-to-face and you have to leave him/her at home and go out to work after that. There is nothing impossible. If you really wish to watching your little ones growing up everyday and at the same time working from home to earn money, you can sign up for SocialSpark.
SocialSpark allows you to work from home, raise your children and make some money at the same time!
Tell you a secret, my ambition is to become a full time housewife when I was young. But when I grow older, I wish to become a housewife but with the ability to earn money by working from home. Give me some more time, I am sure I can do that. And SocialSpark would definitely be one of the key element for me in achieving my dream.
Starzbites Sausage Pizza
We were there to try out this new pizza on Sunday afternoon.
Eight of us: KC, Ben, winnie, boi, sandbox, @pple, ccw and I.
We got to play this spin and win game. Boi was appointed to spin. She was trying to cheat by moving the arrow pointing to the dish that she likes! But the waitress did not allow her to do so and insisted her to spin it. So, she spinned and told the waitress that it was a trial so that she could get a second spin! LOL! The waitress was quite impatient.
Anyway, she managed to win a glass of Pepsi!
So, guess who are the 2 tam ciak kui?
Baby Cola: Winnie ee ee, use a fork la!
Met Puan Chong (our secondary school teacher) at Pizza Hut. Her daughter was celebrating her birthday with friends.
Look at the lovely barbie birthday cake that she got!
1st Wedding Anniversary
I celebrated the anniversary with itchy blisters on my fingers and toes. Even though it itches once or twice in a day but the itchiness is unbearable! It is worse than headache! According to the pharmacist, the blisters on my fingers and toes are caused by hormone, which means it is related to pregnancy. :(
Anyway, the rashes on my belly is gone now. My fingers are recovering but my toes are still itchy. But I do feel much much MUCH better now. Phew~~
Back to the anniversary. I feel bad lor, but I really did not have any mood to celebrate it while I was not in a good condition. We just had dinner outside and that's it. 'X'!
However, let me share my thoughts with you all. This is something I wrote last year before I waved goodbye to my singlehood:
**************************
Wedding is just a day of show to me. Marriage is the life-long "responsibility".
If life is a book, marriage would be a new chapter in it and wedding would be the decoration page of the chapter.
I believe a good start would make the following pages to be more interesting.
The definition of the good start could be varied from each individual. To me, a wedding should be blessed with everyone who cares about us and also whom we care about. Thus, the page must be filled with the joy of everyone instead of the 2 of us only.
We were quite lucky as given quite a lot of space in organizing the wedding. Parents do let us have our way in certain things and friends always give supports for us in doing everything. The effort of everybody helping us in filling up the page make me feel that we are so much loved and blessed by them.
**************************
I wanted to post it up in my blog but I got no time for it before the wedding.
However, I am glad that I still feel the same way after a year.
To all my dear relatives and friends out there, I might have forgotten to mention this last year, but I would do it now:
Thank you all for turning out on our big day and made it a happy, enjoyable and unforgettable day in our lives. Without you, the wedding won't be a complete one.
Love still goes on. :)
Rashes!
Arghhh!!!!!
Moody!
Grumpy!
No stretch marks but there are rashes on my belly!
And, they are itchy!
muuu...
Doctor: Itchy?
Me: Yes!
Doctor: Now you are in week 32, in about 1 month + 2 weeks time, the rashes will be gone, and there will be no more itchy. *smiley face* (he means that after delivery, everything will back to normal)
Me: :(
Some people told me that the itchiness is the beginning of the stretch marks. But the rashes appeared about two weeks ago, there is no stretch marks to be seen so far.
Anyway, other than that, everything is ok. Baby Cola is 2kg and Cola's mummy is 65.2kg. Doctor is quite impressed with the progress.
