BLEACH the movie: Memories of Nobody

If I were to create a Japanese manga character, I am going to name it Red Sponge the Protector. I am not sure how it is to be called in Japanese, is it Hiiro Kaimen? Anyway, the reason to use this name is because it is my blogger name and I want the character to be able to protect human from all kind of disasters.

Talking about Japanese manga, NCM Fathom and Viz Media are going to present Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody at selected movie theaters in US on June 11th and 12th. The movie will be show at 7:30pm for the mentioned two nights only. It is based on the popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The story follows the adventure of Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student who has the ability to see ghosts, has set out to learn more after unidentified beings known as “Blanks” start popping up in Karakura Town which are then wiped out by Senna, a mysterious Soul Reaper.

Don't forget to book your tickets in advance as the seating is limited. Visit www.fathomevents.com now!

Happy 2nd Birthday, My Dear Bulat

Today is Bulat's birthday. We celebrated it last Sunday night.

There is no party for him this year but somehow we have a few invited guests celebrating for him, namely my bro's ex-roommate in Singapore and his family who happened to travel to Kuching, my aunt and family who happened to come from Betong and another aunt who comes for a short visit.

Bulat's parents prepared the food. The parents also prepared a cake for him thoughtfully as we can still remember vividly that how happy Bulat was when the birthday song was played and the candle was lighten up. :)

This year, when we placed the drumstick and eggs in front of him, he grabbed the drumstick and tried to eat it.

There are a few little stories of the birthday boy that must be recorded:

1. On Saturday, my bro told Bulat this:
Bulat's Dad:"Bulat, this year papa din buy you any balloons. You want balloons?"
Bulat:*nod his head*
Bulat's Dad:"You want balloons har? We use Bulat's money to buy balloons, ok?"
Bulat:*shake his head*

Kekeke...as if he can understand it.

2. Bulat looked at the present in my hands.
Me:"This is for Bulat, can you carry it yourself?"
Bulat:*nod his head*
I gave it to him.
Bulat shook his head and said:"zhong" *means heavy
Me:"Give it to popo then."
Bulat quickly went to find popo and passed it to her.
Popo:"Who give this to Bulat?"
Bulat:"Peter peter!"
Popo:"and ku chang..."
Bulat:"Tang!"

I am quite surprise that he can say the word "zhong" without us telling him even though he is now very good at repeating the last word in our sentences.

3. My sil bought Bulat and the kids a party hat each. She distributed it to the kids, and Bulat snatched back the hat from a little girl, Rachel, who is 6 months older than Bulat. They fought for the hats. The little girl cried out first. We tried to persuade Bulat to give one to her, but somehow Bulat also cried.

4. Later that night, Rachel wanted to ride on Bulat's tricycle. Again, Bulat cried and made Rachel to get down from the tricycle. Then, Bulat quickly got up while Rachel crying pitifully. I think this is the problem with the only child at home?

5. That night, before Bulat slept, I had a little talk with him.
Bulat:"ku tang?"
Me:"Ku chang went home already."
Bulat:"BB?"
Me:"BB wants to sleep already, like Bulat."
According to my mama and sil, he will ask about everyone before he falls asleep. Since he asked about BB, I continued the topic to see whether he will share his stuff with my BB in future.
Me:"Bulat, next time my BB sleeps in your cot, ok?"
Bulat:*nod his head*
Me: "Really? Then where you sleep?"
Bulat:"zhe li" *means here. *pointing at his parents' bed that he was lying on*
I thought he is willing to share his belongings with Cola at first. So, I continued asking him.
Me:"Then my BB next time sleep in Bulat's sarong downstair, ok?"
Bulat:"ngm moi, moi.." *means no in Hakka
I realised that he just prefered to sleep in his parents bed compare with his own cot. :(

Sil and I wonder will Bulat sayang Cola or not.

Baby Cola's 27th week in ME

The visit to doctor is supposed to be a fun one but then this time what the doctor said made me worried for one day one night! I decided to leave my worries behind now.

During this month follow-up, I brought along the health card given by the government clinic as the doctor requested for it during our last visit.

Doctor was looking through my records when I was on the scale. He guessed that I am 63 or 64kg now, but the result showed that I am 64.7kg. He said:"WAH, u put on so much weight?" Mwehehe...I cant help it. ;p But doctor suggested me to have more vegie. "Doctor, I prefer to eat meat!" Come to think of it, it is so easy to put on weight when pregnant. I gain 2.5kg in a month, before this, it seems like I can eat a lot and only gain 1kg after months. Heheeh...let me just enjoy myself for putting on more weight for the coming 3 months.

When he scanned, he tried to locate Cola's head. At first, he thought Cola's head is on top. Then, he found that Cola's position is actually upside down inside my womb.

Doctor:"Hmm, the head is located quite low."
Doctor:"Very low."
I have no idea what does that mean but it certainly makes me worried.

Doctor:"Wah, the head is quite big!"
Does it mean that I will have problem when giving birth to the baby?

Doctor:"Your baby is not small, quite big actually! He is slightly overweight, 1.14kg."
Ooops, dear Cola, maybe we should re-consider to be on diet "together-gether".

Doctor:"Look at the baby's stomach, it is beautiful, isn't it?"
Hehe...the different between doctor and normal people like us, we do not know how to admire the beauty of the stomach. *bleks*

Doctor:"Good, the water is enough and the placenta is in good condition."

Doctor:"Come back again 3 weeks later, if there is anything, you come back a week before that." I am worried but maybe I just think too much. My colleague who is also pregnant told me that it is normal to visit the doctor more frequent when moving into 3rd trimester. ;p

p/s: I started to feel Cola's weight about 2 weeks ago. It is not easy for me to bend forward now. At night, when I lie in the bed, I can feel the backpain. Also, I notice that my feet are swelling, but it does not happen everyday.

Super Big Joke

How do you feel if you spot an actress wearing exactly the same blouse that you have?
.
.
.

How do you feel if she is a famous HK star?
.
.
.

LOL...I just surfed around and found that Nancy Sit (薛家燕) got the same blouse like mine! Oh my! The silk blouse is added to my maternity wear collection during the trip to Shenzhen this year. *speechless*

Wondering she will appear in the new TVB series -- The Silver Chamber Of Sorrows <銀樓金粉> wearing this blouse or not.

*giggle*

**Update: I change to another link since they have taken away the photo. hmph

A letter to Cola

Dear Cola,

Are you bored in there yet? 'x' The space for you is getting smaller as you are growing bigger everyday. I know, I can see it, and I can hardly see my own toes when standing straight. ;p

Whenever I look at my tummy, I just cant help to pat it with hands! I wonder you get shocked by me or not, no worry, mummy is just having fun with my new drumset. LOL.

Tonight, mummy and daddy are going to see you through the ultrasound. We are going to get to know you better.

Now, be a good boy, we shall meet each other after 3 months. :)

With love,
Cola's Mummy

14th July 2007, Guangzhou

When we were staying at Disneyland Hotel, we saw our neighbour ordering breakfast to room. We have never try that before. So, we ordered ours when we were at Guangzhou. KEKE..Not bad, wake up early in the morning and had breakfast while we are still in our pyjamas. ;p

The first destination of the day is Baiyun (White Cloud) Mountain. It is another big recreation park, or a botanical garden.

A lot of people doing exercise in the early morning. One of their favourite activites: shuttlecock kicking (踢毽子).

There is a legend of this Statue of Pearl Girl. But I am lazy to tell the stories here ;p In short, people come here to make wishes, touch the pearl on the forehead of the Pearl Girl and throw the red cloth on to the wishing tree. Then, your wishes will be granted.

It is not an attractive to tourist like me ;p We then went back to hotel. Lunch at Seattle Espresso Coffee Shop, a restaurant that serves western food nearby our hotel.
The food is just ok. I mean we can simply find a restaurant that serve better western food in Kuching. Anyway, I am thankful to this restaurant as I find that I have no appetite for the local food there.

Then, we spent the afternoon inside a shopping place where we found this sushi restaurant. Ah...the best meal I had in Guangzhou! ;p The sushi is definitely more delicious than Sushi King.

Man-Made Waterfall is one of the 8 great sights of Guangzhou. But I just have no idea why it is included, maybe it is the largest man-made waterfall there. As a tourist, I found that I was cheated to go there lo. Nothing special to see.
I think the building opposite the waterfall is even more interesting with the neon lights changing from time to time.
*shake head* Wasting our time and money to get there.

Continued shopping at Beijing Lu Pedestrian Street (北京路步行街). Along the street, you will see the surface of the road made by different dynasty.

We ended the day with a supper from Pizza Hut! Pizza with pork. *wink*

End of Day 11.

Pacific Ink

The cost of buying both the original black and colour ink cartridges most of the time is equivalent to the price of buying a new printer. I am not saying that without any proof. The printer that I am using is Canon Pixma iP1880 which is about RM160 and the original black and colour cartridges are about RM150.

The worse thing is that it will not print even a single dot when either one of the cartridges is running out of ink. In order to cut down on the expenses, I always go for the refill kits or re-manufactured ink cartridges instead of the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) cartridge.

Pacific-ink-logo
At pacificink.com, not only that you can find the wide ranges of original canon ink cartridges, epson ink cartridges and dell printer cartridges, but also the re-manufactured ink cartridges and also the refill kits. Comparing the prices of the re-manufactured ink cartridges and refill kits, they are much more cheaper than the original ink cartridges. However, I do face the problem of buying the re-manufactured ink cartridge that does not work on my printer. With the Hassle Free Guaranteed offer by pacific.com, you can be rest assured of the followings:
  1. the price of pacificink.com products (excluding OEM cartridges) is lower than anywhere else. Otherwise, you will get refund 100% of the difference.
  2. the quality of the cartridges purchases from pacificink.com. They will replace it right away or provide your money back within 65 days of your purchase, if you are not satisfied with it.
  3. the printer condition. If a licensed technician determines that a cartridge purchased from pacificink.com spoil your printer, they will reimburse you up to $100.

Not forget to mention also that pacificink.com offers free shipping if you sign up as member and purchase 2 or more cartridge in a single order.

Cotton Tree at Padang Merdeka

Ccw and I planned to go take a walk in the park on Wesak Day evening. When we drove passed the Padang Merdeka, I saw this!

You notice anything?

The field is decorated nicely with the white fluffy cotton.

It is like snowing, isn't it?

The big old cotton tree, which is standing in front of Merdeka Palace for years, is blossomed again!

Look at the cotton on the tree. It is as pretty as sakura.

Posing with cotton.

Pose 1:
Cotton with its seed.
Pose 2:

Pose 3:
The cotton is silky soft.

To those who loves photography, do not miss this, I think this will continues for 1 or 2 weeks. :)

To any couples who is taking pre-wedding photo shooting, I suggested you to have your outdoor photos taken at Merdeka Palace or the field in front of Museum Sarawak. :)

To the public, I think it is a great place to hang out, but watch out and do not sit/step onto the animal dung. ;p

I wonder the other cotton tree at Batu Lintang roadside got blossom or not!

Party @ Winnie's House

Last Friday, we (ccw, sandbox, winnie and I) had lunch together. Since I have no planning for the long weekend, I suggested to them: "Let's have party at Winnie's house on this Sunday!!" And, there is no objection. We discussed the details of the party immediately.

The discussion is as short as this:
1. Winnie prepares the food! We shall divide and pay later.
2. Spaghetti is the main course.
3. Inform the rest: Ben, Boi, @pple & Patsda.
4. Party starts at 7pm. I told Winnie that I shall go over earlier to help out.
5. Inform @pple to bring the tea set for "kung fu tea" session.

I love this bunch of friends a lot. We can always count on everyone at anytime. LOL!

The party turned out to be a successful one as the host, Winnie, had done everything. She shopped, prepared and cook the food, later she washed and dried the dishes by herself too. She also paid for everything. Winnie, you are such a great host!

Cph, this is how we help you to take care of your gf.

HMM...I helped too.
That's the only task available by the time we reached her house. ;p

My favourite purchase over the weekend

Over the weekend, ccw and I had been to Anakku and Poppies to look out for things that Cola might need. So far, we have bought a few items including a cap, few shirts, bolsters and pillow set, a pair of booties and also the baby cot. The baby cot is not yet assembled.

So far, this is my favourite purchase from poppies:
The pair of blue little lamb booties is so cute that I have to take them home with me.

But I am wondering when will my little Cola can fit in them?

Death Note in Theaters Near You

Unknown
DeathNote, a movie based on the hit supernatural action-mystery japanese manga. It is actually about the ace student, Light Yagami, who gets hold of the Death Note, a notebook that with any human whose name is written in it will die. Light uses the notebook to kill the criminals who are not punished by the law. Due to the increasing number death among the criminals, the intelliegent detective "L" is assigned by the authorities to investigate it. The climax of the movie is when L gets on the trail of Light. Both of them believe that they are on the side of justice and the two match wits to prove who is "good" and who is "evil".

I had already watched it in cinema last year here in Kuching. It is definitely a nice movie. Now, if I had a supernatural characteristic, I hope it is something like teleport. Then, I can teleport myself to the place I want at anytime. :)

For you in US, NCM Fathom and Viz Pictures bring DEATH NOTE to the big screens for two nights only! It is on May 20th and 21st at 7:30 PM! Do not miss the chance to watch it at the theater near you. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.fathomevents.com/. I hope you get the tickets fast as the seating is limited! Enjoy yourself!

China Earthquake

Let's help!

I watched the rescuing process by China through the TV broadcasted from Sichuan and it reminds me of the movie "World Trade Centre".

This time, it is not only one building involved. But there are many schools and other buildings collapsed.

Imagine, the day when the earthquake happened (12th May), people claims that they can hear a lot of victims trapped inside the buildings shouting for helps. Then, they can still hear people asking for help on the second day. On the third day, they can still hear some voices coming from the collapsed buildings. But the following days, it is getting quiet. Very sad.

Please help in whatever approach that you can. For me, again I opt for donation. Honestly, I did not contribute much, but I believe that if everyone donate a little, we can gather a lot at the end.

Yesterday, wen told me that on she found the google checkout service by mercycorp through the adsense appeared in my blog. In case you cant find the advertisement, you can click here. If you have questions on Google Checkout service charges on the donation, please view here. Google checkout does not charge any donation processing fee until 2009.

Of course, you can also donate through other channels. Believe it, you can help if you wish to. :)

Enjoy your long weekend!

I signed up for SocialSpark!

I know this is not new to some of you as I have already written a post on SocialSpark few days ago.

This time I am going to tell you in more details as I have learnt more of it. In SocialSpark, there are 3 types of opportunities available. First, it is the Sponsored Post. You can request for a slot for any opportunity that is "open" to you and you are "qualified" for and wait for SocialSpark reply. Upon approval of your request, you will have 12 hours to complete your post.

The second one is Blog Sponsorship. For this type of opportunities, you just need to request for a slot and wait for the advertisement to appear on your blog. That's how simple it is.

As for the last one, which is the Spark, is a kind of opportunity that you can take up to drive traffic to your blog as the rewards from it would be the advertiser blogs you back.

It is important to know the code of ethics by SocialSpark and follow them:
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
Disclosure Badge placed at the end of each sponsored post that you write is to protect both you and the advertiser. This can avoid you from being accused being impropriate as your readers know that it is a paid post.

-100% Transparency
Within the SocialSpark marketplace, you can view any approved sponsored post by other bloggers. I think this is especially helpful for the newcomers (like me), they can learn from the approved post and improve on their own post. To the advertisers, they will definitely get better quality posts as the bloggers get to know what they want through the sample posts.

-100% Real Opinions
Well, SocialSpark allow you to say anything but you must be honest.

-100% Search Engine Friendly
This is good! The sponsored link in SocialSpark carried the "no-follow" attribute and it will not affect the search engine rankings of your blog. I am one of the victims as my google page rank drops from 2 to 0 after participating in one of the paid post program.

Visit SocialSpark website and start to earn money through your blog!

13th July 2007, Guangzhou

Yuexiu Park (越秀公园) is a big park that is not suitable for a tourist to tour around by foot. I think it is a waste of time to do so as there is not much thing to be seen! The entrance fee is cheap which is RMB5. But then you need to pay entrance fee again for certain attractions inside the park.

We visited the museum which located inside a historical building named 镇海楼 (zhen hai lou) that built in 1380 and renovated in 1928.

You may read the history of the building here and some might be more interested in the wrong spelling for the word "scene" as "sence" on the upper signboard.

On top of the building, you will be able to see Dr. Sun Yat-sen's study room last time and now it is a memorial statue.

Then, we also took photos for the Sculture of Five Rams.
The 5 rams got legend one. About 2000 years ago, the people in Guanzhou were poor and starving even though they worked hard everyday. One day, 5 celestial beings riding on the rams with 6 bundles of spikes reaching to the land. They sent the spikes to the people and granted them with good returns in every year harvesting season. Then, they rose up the sky while the five rams turned into stone rams. So, that is why Guangzhou is referred as "The ram city".

Take a break, have a bottle of coca-cola!

Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall.

The tiles are nice!

I called this "unlucky". When you travel so far and then realised that the place you visit is closed for maintenance.

Inside the hall, this is Dr. Sun Yat-sen's stage!

We had lunch at the nearby restaurant.

We hired a taxi to send us to the oldest temple in Guangzhou "光孝禅寺".
It is built about 1700 years ago. The entrance fee can be made using the MTR card.

We visited another old temple called "六榕寺".
There is a pretty 9-storeys pagoda.

We had successfully climb to the top! Proud!

We took MTR to "陈氏书院" (Chen's School?).

You can find fine carving works done on the roof, wall, and even woods there.

There are some stone and metal sculptures.

There are also exhibitions on fine carving and sewing arts.

Dinner at a famous restaurant "西关人家" where we saw there are a lot of celebrities photos. But the food is just so-so. ;p

We went on Pearl River Night Cruise (珠江夜游) that night. You can learn a lot about Guangzhou during the 2 hours cruise.

End of Day 10.
