Met a Teacher

Nothing KESI about meeting a secondary teacher who might not even remember my name. But the way she looked at me, i think she still can recognise my face la. If she cant, then I have to say that she is getting old. 'x' Because we used to spend our recess time in the JAIL, or pigeon hole (well, it is the Kedai Koperasi) selling exercise books and stationary together. The so-called Kedai is like tauhu size, even she refused to look at me, she will still see me! WHAHAH

Ok, enough about that.

I met her on last Sunday. We were just next to each other, so no choice but to greet her. The conversation as below.

Teacher: You are working or studying now? (hehehe, I still look too young to work yet)
Me: Ah, working. Work for more than a year.
Teacher: Where you work?
Me: **************
Teacher: Oh, do you work OT there?
Me: Erm, if you cant finish ur work, you hav to OT. (kek tiok, actually i work OT)
Teacher: Ah, I see.
(She started to move away and suddenly she turned back again)
Teacher: So, you get married already? (WAISEHman)
Me: Not yet!
Teacher: Impossible you still havent save enough money for that eh! (She laughed a little when walking away)
Me: (Shouting from the back) Yalor...havent save enough money for that.

HMMM...that is the conversation between us. Weird? I think there is something not so right! But I do not know which part that is WEIRD.

AHA!
She knew I have a boyfriend???? How could she asked such question so directly? What if I do not have a bf yet? Right?! lol

A subject outside the Classroom

There are subjects that should be taught in school but they are not.

One of the subjects is: Life and Death

I am brought up in a chinese family where the religion background is not very strong. The word DIE is not a GOOD word to be even mentioned not to say to be DISCUSSED OVER with my family. My grandma will totally FORBID us, the children to mention the word DIE on any occasions like CNY, weddings, birthdays, etc. Therefore, I am lack of the knowledge about DEATH.

I scared to think about DEATH. I was always shivering in cold whenever I thought about DEATH before I was 23.

During my last year in university, my uncle 5(papa's side) has passed away. I was very sad and scared at the same time. Before this, I had never attend any funeral except for my teacher's whom had taught me Mandarin subject in secondary school.

I still remembered the day my uncle passed away, I went to his place with my mama (my dad was already there). Once I stepped out from the car, my tears started to roll down my cheeks. I could not accept the fact that he had passed away. How could he DIED? I mean, I knew that it is CANCER that took away his life. But, to me, it means that I will never be seeing him again. But what does it mean to him?? I did not know what should I do there except paying him my last respect. Everyone looked sad with swollen eyes.

I told my close friends about the death and my feelings. My closest friend, gave me a book entitled "Tuesday with Morries" as a birthday present the same year. It is a book that has recorded the last 14 Tuesdays which the author had spent with Morries, and old man before he died. And I must say that it is a GREAT book. It has enriched me with the meaning of LIFE. It took away my fear towards death, at least I wont avoid myself from thinking about it anymore.

Three years later, I got the chance to read another book by the same author -- "the five people you meet in heaven". Although it is a bit different from the first book as it is the author's imagination, I still like it not less than the first book.

My Head

Dear Head,

Hope you are in the pink of health.

Here is a question I wish to get an answer from you: Why are you so bad-tempered?

Whenever you get angry, I will get headache. Sometimes, I really cannot stand the ache that you bring to me, I have no choice but to swallow panadol satu biji. I was warned by friends and colleagues that I should not take panadol too often. Everyone read about the -ves of taking panadol from the forwarded mail, i am not sure how true it is. But who wants to take the panadol monthly like paying for streamyx? Ok, if that's kinda making payment, what benefit/service I get? HEADACHE?!!

Recently, I told pinkcotton about my worries. I am abit worried one day you just go crazy and then I am being told by doctor that some kind of ball or pingpong is found in you. Ah...if this happens, how?

Head ah head, I don't like the feeling of uncertain. I wish to know the reason of you being so bad-tempered! If only you could answer me...

Love,
ur only Owner.

h.a.p.p.y

Yeah! The system that I have been working on these few months has finally been deployed successfully this afternoon.

My senior gave me the chance to do the installation and deployment on the server. When we settled down at the customer's server room, my senior said: "Ok, let's start the TEST!" Kekekeke, in fact, I really treated it as a test. I was quite nervous as I thought it will be handled by him all the while. The first part of the test is on installation for server and db. I have practised on the same questions b4, and somemore it was a "open book test", therefore, there is no problem for that part. Then I thought the second part of the test would be even more easier as it was the deployment of the application. Eng-eng! The application could not access to the db!!! CO MAI BOI??? (that is hakka, it means how come????)
*tick tuck tick tuck tick tuck*
*Teng* Problem solved! (erm, it is too technical to explain it. 'x') But it was hours later and we were almost shivering inside the COLD server room.

The most important thing is that the job is done! Cheers!

Nice Weekend

Yeah!!! Enjoying a nice weekend! I have Saturday and Sunday without working!!!

Spending time on
  1. sleeping - Oh it is so nice to be able to wake up late in the morning,
  2. reading book - was halfway reading another book by Mitch Albom -- "The Five People You Meet in Heaven",
  3. washing car - it is tiring!
  4. blogging - hee...apparently I have forgotten most of the thing that I want to blog 'x',
  5. watching TV - wah, so much to watch ah! LOL

KEKEKEKEKE ... so SUANG~~!!

Wedding

As promised earlier, am going to blog on this topic.

Recently, ppl ard me talk about engagement and wedding. Some of them are younger and some are older than me. There is no age limit for it, right? HMMM...

But often ppl will link it to the age issue.

HOW does ppl link wedding with age and WHY you are suppose to get married b4 30. 'x'

1. People said that lady should get married before 30. Reason is that the risk to give birth to baby is lower before they are 40. Hee...theory: wedding = give birth?

2. Auntiesss will gossip ard if a girl pak tho for years but still not yet get married. But they nvr gossip abt the guy! WHY?

3. Aunties will also gossip if a girl is not yet kahwin after reaching certain age, say 30. WHY?

4. Lady should get married b4 30 in order to be a Pretty Bride. Meaning to say that lady should get married before the wrinkles grow. I just heard this recently. Interesting!

5. When someone from their own gang is getting married, you will hear that: Oh, her bf is quite old already, you know? So? The only reason that I can think of is by relating it to the sei-kia theory, later the daddy look like grandpa to his child. Can it be? hmm

Looks like it is unfair to the ladies. Out of the 5 HOW & WHY, there is only 1 that shoots the guy. But who cares as long as you marry the right person, right? *wink*

Valentine's Day 2006

My bf and I were celebrating the 6th VDay this year. We did not really plan how to celebrate it until...

Later, I found out that pink cotton and 13th Panda were both so keen and anxious to prepare for the big day to come. I could not stop recalling how I had been celebrating the previous 5 VDAYs with my bf. I am quite upset with myself. I cant remember most of them. *sob sob* The only 2 VDAYs that can be found in my memory are...

First VDAY - that was before I entered university...
*KHIK* My bf booked a table at Top Spot by the pool side. The environment was quite romantic and it was a windy night except that there were mosquitoes joining us. =( I can still remember the dishes: sea cucumber soup, cheesy crab, o jien and there should be some vege (Ok, i dont like vege and that's why I could not remember 'x'). The cheesy egg crab is YUMMY. But, the tauke cannot remember how to cook that anymore. LOL. That night, it rained. Halfway through the dinner, we had to move under the shelter. hahahaha...

Fifth VDAY - last year
My bf cooked the dinner. He prepared the lamb steak! He is a GOOD cook!

Back to the VDay this year, I told my bf that we should do something on this VDay. HAHA...But we have had dinner together the night before, so we ended up going for a movie on VDay! LOL ... It was the very last minute decision. We just chose whatever movie that showed around 9pm. I think we just had another unforgetable VDay. A VDay that turned out to be sweet and relaxing due to the reason that no expectation from the both of us.

By creating this entry, I hope that my memory of the VDays will last longer.

Airport

Kuching International Airport, 2nd Floor: Check-in Counters.

The airport looks grand. But I do not understand why it chose to use the dim lights? It gives me an impression of laziness. Hopefully visitors wont think like me, otherwise it will be "Sarawakians are lazy". Opps!

House warming party

My auntie held a house warming party. All my mother side family and some friends of the family are invited. The scenario can best describe with the phrase "people mountain people sea".

My grandparents have 13 children: 6 sons and 7 daughters and they are all married with childrens. At the moment, there are only 2 children from the fourth generation so far.

Lemme draw the family tree and get the exact number of my family members.

Total members = 70 heads! Cool!

After we enjoyed the food, my cousin, who is also the host invited us to watch the fireworks. The feeling watching fireworks together with about 100 persons is fantastic. When the colourful fireworks appearing in the sky like this:

and the 100 persons goes like this "WOW~".

However, firework is dangerous. An accident happened when one of the fireworks did not shoot high enough b4 it *POM-M-M*. And as a result, the fireworks went straight into one of my younger cousin T's and slightly burnt parts of his neck. He jumped up and down just like the way I will do if a dog get near to me. WAHAHA. He was sitting between my brothers. My koko was taking movie clip of that fireworks and when it dropped, the movie also turning upside down. If you are interested to watch the driving-you-dizzy movie clip, just email me (if you know my email).

Be careful if you really want to play fireworks, or better still be an obedient boy and listen to what papa (government) said: No firework or firecracker is allowed!

By the way, did anyone notice the ghost sound firework this year? It sounds like this ho~~~~~. Well, I just want to tell that it is very IRRITATING!

Chat in Gmail??!!?

People, you notice the coming soon feature in gmail?

Does it mean that another evolution in chatting world is going to occur soon?

When I was in Form 4 & 5 (that would be 8 years ago), I used to chat with friends in ICQ. There is always a long list of green flowers appeared in my ICQ list. Fowler, sandbox, sapphire, me=), babe, psyblade, ching and shin are some of the nicknames that I can still remember until now. There are always some messages come in once I turned on ICQ, the uh-oh sound would be non-stopped. Papa always came in and asked:"Who is that?". Anyone ever wonder why ICQ chooses the uh-oh sound? Uh-oh, someone dropped u a message! It doesn't sound right, isn't it? I think YooHoo, sme one dropped you a message! would be more appropriate.
Hee...the ICQ man's voice is now playing in my head:
"Incoming chat request!"
"Incoming file transfer!"

I remember that there were the horn (should be ctrl+B or wat) and hysterical laughters (ctrl+G or L, hee if anyone still remember, please refresh me!). I used to horn my bf (oops should be my friend that time) as he was so slow in typing. Well, he does not like to chat online! :( As for the hysterical laughters, I used alot when chatting with my jimuis. But I used to turn off the speaker when chatting with them! 'x' Cos, we were like spamming each other with the laughters!

While waiting for SPM result to be released, ICQ is my best buddy. I chatted everyday and sometimes almost forgot to go to bed at night. The earliest record I held to go to bed was 5am in the morning.

Actually, I did re-visit ICQ some time ago in last year. *sigh* My list of friends are still there, but to my horror, NONE of the icq flowers is in Green colour, they are all RED! No one using ICQ anymore. Why? To tell the truth, my reason is: sick with the invisible status there. I always put on invisible and only allowed ppl whom i wished to chat with to see me. After a while, I felt irritated by my act. I believe everyone practising the same way. But if that is the case, you should not add the person at the first place. Why do you want to add someone and never let the person meet you online? Just to extend the list? Then due to this illogical reason, I quit ICQ.

I do not know the reason why my other friends quit ICQ. There are another 2 chatting tools released almost at the same time: Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger. Half of my list switch to Yahoo Messenger (YM) and the other half including myself chose MSN Messenger (MM).

At the early stage, I like MM. It is simple with no invisible kinda status. The other limitation of MM which I like is no offline message. You chat with the person only when both online. By this, you will feel more appreciate to chat with each other cos you might not meet each other all the time and you cant leave msg. Odd theory of mine.

In fact, I find that more friends using MM lately. My MM list is getting longer but not reaching the size of ICQ list yet.

That's the evolution once happened where people changing from ICQ to YM or MM. And in few weeks time, I predict that there will be another evolution. See ya and chat in Gmail!

Papa, Papa's fish and Papa's fish lover

Papa rears fish.

He ever kept 1 black kaloi, 2 golden kaloi, hua lo han, etc. One at a time.
Story about black kaloi. Papa gave kaloi meat to eat. The black kaloi is always kuai kuai when Papa changed the water in the aquarium. It will lay still while waiting for Papa to clean up the aquarium. The kaloi grew bigger and bigger until the size of 15 cms. The fish looked strong. Then one night, papa's fish lover come and took away the black kaloi without telling anyone of us. We only found out the next morning when we saw the empty aquarium and waters on the floor.

Later, Papa bought a golden kaloi. When the golden kaloi grew as big as the black kaloi, papa's fish lover come again. Gone the golden kaloi.

Papa got another hua luoan. It is a small one. It is not very colourful when it first come. Then slowly, it grew bigger and turned into golden colour. This fish eat prawn. When papa went travelling, I took the responsibilities to feed it everyday. When it is feeding time, this hua lou han would be oh-so-excited and jumped up and down in the water. I used to think the fish was crazy and abit pha-pha it might bite my finger.

Recently, papa's fish lover visited us on one night and brought the hua luo han with him again.

A note to papa's fish lover:
Papa said he did not mind to keep the fish for you when it is small. When the fish grows to the size that you want, you may come and fetch it home. But please come and get it during the day time. Your visit at night make us cant sleep well. Though you are giving us surprise when we woke up the next morning, we think that we should at least say goodbye to the fish before you take it away. Also, thanks for admiring papa's fish all the time.

To all papa's fish: Hopefully you all are moving into bigger aquarium! Miss you all!

Fearless

Fearless is a nice movie. I almost miss this movie as I thought that it would be another violence movie by Jet Li. 'x'

The shopaholics

Watched the movie entitled "The Shopaholics" during CNY. You can read up the synopsis @ http://www.moviexclusive.com/review/shopaholics/shopaholics.htm

Basically, it is a typical HK style comedy. I just went there and laughed from the beginning until the end. Somehow, I felt like I was forced to laugh for certain parts. I am not sure whether the term "forced" is used correctly here. If you watched HK movies since young, you will know that which part of the movie is funny and which is not. Example: when an actor falls from somewhere high, with a hand stretches straight to a side and the other hand holds up like saying HI, a leg stretches 45 degree just like this:

and you will know that he is trying to be funny. And this is the HK comedy trend which I think when we laugh at these scenes, it is kinda like "forced".

Once the HK famous comedy director, Wang Jing said:

We always have to think of new joke to make audiences laugh. Audiences always want something fresh. To make audiences laugh is harder than making them cry. To make audience sad, we can make the main character's relative die one by one. However, to make the audience laugh, you cant make the funny thing twice.

What he said is quite true, if repeating the joke twice, it will be irritating. So, never say HK comedy is silly or meaningless. It is not easy to inventing new jokes all the time.

Back to the movie, one thing that caught most of my attention is phobia in making decision. I am not sure is there any shopaholics around me, but many friends and colleagues have the problem when making decision. I never realised that it is a kind of sickness. 'x' We (pls note that I said WE, yes including myself) always have a hard time when making decision where to have lunch. When I first joined the company, I was always puzzled to find that my colleagues used to group together and waiting for each other to suggest which kopitiam to go. Sometimes, I found myself indecisive when come to the part ordering food from menu too. When this happens, I will be quite panic and ask my bf to do the order work for me. LOL.

Happy New Year

Do you listen to what ppl wish you when they shake hand with you? I always pay attention to what ppl wish me on these days. It is quite funny. Some would say bulublablabla, dunno what they said. Some were like whispering. Some would just open and close their mouth without saying a word. Some even worse, they just keep their mouth shut. Very few that would really greet me with a loud and clear happy new year or gong xi fa cai.

Thanks to the few of you! =)

What will you say when you shake hand with others on CNY?

I always say Happy New Year or xin nian kuai le.

If happy new year is your favourite wishing on CNY, I think you should practise saying it few time before CNY.

There is this joke happened years ago.

We were visiting a friend during CNY. Friend's mama greeted us one by one. Nice mama. We were then seated in the comfy sofa. When mama went to the back, a friend asked:"Why your mama wishing me Happy Birthday?" kekekekekekeke...
