I think shark's fin soup is tastier. But, well, at least consuming the bird's nest soup would not be accused being cruel. Er, am I right?
Anyway, from the research I gathered through the internet, consumption of bird's nest soup during pregnancy can improve the immune functions of the feotus and help the mother to recover easily after giving birth. But I do hope that it will help in improving my skin too! ;p

psss.. tell u hor, i also never drink bird's nest soup woh, although i grow up in Sarawak and stayed there for >20 years :P
If you ask a Doc sure he/she'll say it's only bird saliva, never help much but we Chinese believe it rich in protein & good to consume esp during pregnancy. No matter what, I love drinking bird nest soup too!
