Death Note in Theaters Near You

Unknown
DeathNote, a movie based on the hit supernatural action-mystery japanese manga. It is actually about the ace student, Light Yagami, who gets hold of the Death Note, a notebook that with any human whose name is written in it will die. Light uses the notebook to kill the criminals who are not punished by the law. Due to the increasing number death among the criminals, the intelliegent detective "L" is assigned by the authorities to investigate it. The climax of the movie is when L gets on the trail of Light. Both of them believe that they are on the side of justice and the two match wits to prove who is "good" and who is "evil".

I had already watched it in cinema last year here in Kuching. It is definitely a nice movie. Now, if I had a supernatural characteristic, I hope it is something like teleport. Then, I can teleport myself to the place I want at anytime. :)

For you in US, NCM Fathom and Viz Pictures bring DEATH NOTE to the big screens for two nights only! It is on May 20th and 21st at 7:30 PM! Do not miss the chance to watch it at the theater near you. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.fathomevents.com/. I hope you get the tickets fast as the seating is limited! Enjoy yourself!

China Earthquake

Let's help!

I watched the rescuing process by China through the TV broadcasted from Sichuan and it reminds me of the movie "World Trade Centre".

This time, it is not only one building involved. But there are many schools and other buildings collapsed.

Imagine, the day when the earthquake happened (12th May), people claims that they can hear a lot of victims trapped inside the buildings shouting for helps. Then, they can still hear people asking for help on the second day. On the third day, they can still hear some voices coming from the collapsed buildings. But the following days, it is getting quiet. Very sad.

Please help in whatever approach that you can. For me, again I opt for donation. Honestly, I did not contribute much, but I believe that if everyone donate a little, we can gather a lot at the end.

Yesterday, wen told me that on she found the google checkout service by mercycorp through the adsense appeared in my blog. In case you cant find the advertisement, you can click here. If you have questions on Google Checkout service charges on the donation, please view here. Google checkout does not charge any donation processing fee until 2009.

Of course, you can also donate through other channels. Believe it, you can help if you wish to. :)

Enjoy your long weekend!

I signed up for SocialSpark!

I know this is not new to some of you as I have already written a post on SocialSpark few days ago.

This time I am going to tell you in more details as I have learnt more of it. In SocialSpark, there are 3 types of opportunities available. First, it is the Sponsored Post. You can request for a slot for any opportunity that is "open" to you and you are "qualified" for and wait for SocialSpark reply. Upon approval of your request, you will have 12 hours to complete your post.

The second one is Blog Sponsorship. For this type of opportunities, you just need to request for a slot and wait for the advertisement to appear on your blog. That's how simple it is.

As for the last one, which is the Spark, is a kind of opportunity that you can take up to drive traffic to your blog as the rewards from it would be the advertiser blogs you back.

It is important to know the code of ethics by SocialSpark and follow them:
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
Disclosure Badge placed at the end of each sponsored post that you write is to protect both you and the advertiser. This can avoid you from being accused being impropriate as your readers know that it is a paid post.

-100% Transparency
Within the SocialSpark marketplace, you can view any approved sponsored post by other bloggers. I think this is especially helpful for the newcomers (like me), they can learn from the approved post and improve on their own post. To the advertisers, they will definitely get better quality posts as the bloggers get to know what they want through the sample posts.

-100% Real Opinions
Well, SocialSpark allow you to say anything but you must be honest.

-100% Search Engine Friendly
This is good! The sponsored link in SocialSpark carried the "no-follow" attribute and it will not affect the search engine rankings of your blog. I am one of the victims as my google page rank drops from 2 to 0 after participating in one of the paid post program.

Visit SocialSpark website and start to earn money through your blog!

They are all very creative!

Come, let's vote for them! The winner's logo will appear on Google Homepage on May 22, 2008. :)

13th July 2007, Guangzhou

Yuexiu Park (越秀公园) is a big park that is not suitable for a tourist to tour around by foot. I think it is a waste of time to do so as there is not much thing to be seen! The entrance fee is cheap which is RMB5. But then you need to pay entrance fee again for certain attractions inside the park.

We visited the museum which located inside a historical building named 镇海楼 (zhen hai lou) that built in 1380 and renovated in 1928.

You may read the history of the building here and some might be more interested in the wrong spelling for the word "scene" as "sence" on the upper signboard.

On top of the building, you will be able to see Dr. Sun Yat-sen's study room last time and now it is a memorial statue.

Then, we also took photos for the Sculture of Five Rams.
The 5 rams got legend one. About 2000 years ago, the people in Guanzhou were poor and starving even though they worked hard everyday. One day, 5 celestial beings riding on the rams with 6 bundles of spikes reaching to the land. They sent the spikes to the people and granted them with good returns in every year harvesting season. Then, they rose up the sky while the five rams turned into stone rams. So, that is why Guangzhou is referred as "The ram city".

Take a break, have a bottle of coca-cola!

Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall.

The tiles are nice!

I called this "unlucky". When you travel so far and then realised that the place you visit is closed for maintenance.

Inside the hall, this is Dr. Sun Yat-sen's stage!

We had lunch at the nearby restaurant.

We hired a taxi to send us to the oldest temple in Guangzhou "光孝禅寺".
It is built about 1700 years ago. The entrance fee can be made using the MTR card.

We visited another old temple called "六榕寺".
There is a pretty 9-storeys pagoda.

We had successfully climb to the top! Proud!

We took MTR to "陈氏书院" (Chen's School?).

You can find fine carving works done on the roof, wall, and even woods there.

There are some stone and metal sculptures.

There are also exhibitions on fine carving and sewing arts.

Dinner at a famous restaurant "西关人家" where we saw there are a lot of celebrities photos. But the food is just so-so. ;p

We went on Pearl River Night Cruise (珠江夜游) that night. You can learn a lot about Guangzhou during the 2 hours cruise.

End of Day 10.
